You can always take solace in xG being reflective of the actual scoreline yesterday.
Oh no, wait...
It’s a vital service. For the greater good pal.
You self licking lollypopHello my old friend
Yeah all the ex Burnley players now feel at homeCredit to the lad, he's stepped up under immensely difficult circumstances.
Having Dyche here seems to have done him a power of good.
Who?We haven’t replaced Gordon.
It's the mental toughness. McNeil has already been counted out, more than once. Yet here he is, putting in performances like that. Like others have said, he was everywhere, putting in the kind of shift that is typical of a high energy, low quality player who wants to make a difference by doing “the things that don't show up in the stats." but then he scores phenomenal goals, like goals that any striker at a top club in a top League would be glad to own. You could not get two better goals than the ones he scored yesterday, and they are so unlike each other, how many players can dance through three Defenders and literally fake the keeper out of his shoes and dribble around him, and then put that kind of rocket on a postage stamp from a dead run in the 96th minute? Still seems surreal.I didn't realise he's roughly the same age as Anthony Gordon.
Yet Gordon is simply incapable of that last performance.
Why? He is crap. They both played here at the same time, he was Richarlisons replacement mate.
We haven’t replaced Gordon.
Not letting them away with that - criminal!

Was a couple of times last night I was sort of suprised at how quick he appeared to be, he usually looks like he’s running in treacle. Not sure if it was just the tug boats he was racing against or if he has one of those ‘languid’ styles where he looks slower than he actually is.The difference between Dwight and players like James (not comparing their quality just the type of player) is you don’t have to build a team around Dwight. At all. He works his butt off, tracks back and isn’t a snail (definitely not saying he is rapid but he can get around the pitch). As much as I loved James I’d much rather the players like McNeil as opposed to the Gylfi’s and the Rodriguez’s. He is a legitimate two sided player with flair and apparently end product as well.

xG...not having a go at you but this stuff is rubbish, you can expect to score all you like but it means zero. You can see with your own eyes if you are creating or not. It is not a game of statisticsA bad day for xG.
That said I'd like to see it in full context.
My guess is we made clear, high xG chances, whereas Brighton's numbers are padded by just peppering our goal out of desperation between the restart and our 4th goal.
We haven’t replaced Richarlison who was best as a CF.They both played here at the same time, he was Richarlisons replacement mate.
