I really do not think that was the point you were trying to make.
My point was it could make him more consistently dangerous which you've rebutted by saying I'll simply send 3 defenders at him which yes will stop him but I think makes my point as well.

I mean I agree with you he's not going to turn into Robben. I also don't need him to. The guy's just not good at crossing and we have to move him into the best place to do other things like shooting and trying thread balls through that he has shown some proficiency at.

How is it his best trait when he created one goal off of an open play cross all year and it wasn't even beating a man but on the break?

I'd argue trying to gain an inch and cross is the worst thing he tries to do.
You are looking at stats too much.

He is really good at pushing it an inch and whipping a cross in. The problem is that there was nobody in the box to do anything with it.

This isn't a stats thing. They get blocked all the time. He doesn't get the cross off a lot of the time. Those instances all matter. Even if on the occasion the cross gets in it is decent, and I'm not even sure that's the case often enough, you can't ignore all the failed attempts.

Purely eye test for me on this.

Ok they get blocked "all the time" and go out for a corner. That's fine too.

Not every cross is going to be an assist. Moving him to the right would be madness.

Not against him playing more centrally though...

Getting crosses blocked for corners is not good attacking play for me, but especially not for an actual attacker.

Yes they won't be assists all the time but we just had a zero assist season from beating the man and crossing wide left. He's not going to be consistently productive like that.

Ultimately I think most everyone agrees we need to see him moving central more and what it comes down to is how do we accomplish that the best?

'eye test' my arse
This happens all the time with the best wingers that exist, have ever existed or will ever exist
Name one 'actual attacker' in any league that avoids this all the time

I guess everything has to be taken extremely literally in writing but just sub in "more often than it should" and reread the post. Lord.

Ffs he was about our only effective player last season playing in his actually position of LW and his whole thread is just people trying to stick him right, center and left back
What if we sign Gnonto then what? Gnonto gots the legs and the direct attacking that we are missing. sure he was good last season but where does he play if we got Gnonto on the field

I doubt we will sign Gnonto, not really a Dyche player, could see Harrison with Harrison RW McNeill LW then we need to focus on STx2, LB, RB, CB, CAM in that order before worrying about wingers

I mean, if we signed Vini Jnr and and Neymar he’d probably get benched but I’m not losing any sleep over that either

Gnonto can play on the right or as a second cf, plus mcneil could play on the other side. Would prefer an attacking lb who can get infront of mcneil to help create more space for him by taking a man away so he can cut inside and have a shot.
