If what you are suggesting is true, which I think it is, and the board do feel we are in a mess- I don't see the reason for bringing in Dyche over Allardyce?
One has done a good job in 5 years at Burnley but that period involved one relegation.
The other has never been relegated.
Has to be Sam.

There is always a first time, perhaps he has made sure he jumped ship when managing clubs.

Hasn't most clubs Allerdyce left ended up worse off?

Teams invariably deteriorate after Big Sam has left them but that's because he tends to over-achieve.

In the 2015/16 Sunderland had probably the worst squad in the league, but Big Sam came in and kept them up. Then Big Sam got the England job so Sunderland appointed Moyes ahead of the 2016/17 season... ...and they finished 20th and got relegated.

So in the whole world of football there was only one centre forward we could buy and now theres only two managers that can organize a team?

Guardiola can organise a team, but we have to be realistic.

For the time being we have to accept that we are not going to attract the likes of Guardiola, Mourinho or Zidane.

This will be the biggest club, by some distance that either has ever been at. An 18 months deal for Allardyce reeks of it being a stability job. Which indicates what a mess the board think we are in.

I'd back either. One positive is, that they've left a lot of clubs in better places then they've found them and Allardyce annoyed England and the FA which is also a positive.

I wouldn't say that we are that much bigger a club than Newcastle or west ham to be fair. Yeah historically but in terms of stature it's similar these days

So realistically for £6m a year theres only 2 managers available in the whole world that can organise a team?

Allardyce is a good manager and exactly what we need right now. Dyche arguably the better choice for the long term.
