ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Liverpool fans currently in a full-on meltdown over rumours that he's failed his medical.

Just popped into the Twilight Zone for a sec......with their usual forensic pedantry, they're now following Lyon on the stock market for any pointers to the transfer. Jesus tonight.

Re: Nabil Fekir. Contradictory reports, leave out the ITK rubbish.

lololololool
that 0.32% volatility.

btw, Lyon's beta value (volatility in relation to the market) is .90, meaning it is 10% less volatile then the market.

W

hich is not volatile at all.

Someone's into share trading

Sure these signings will be upgrades... but, they've still got Lovren, A-A (though he's obviously going to be pretty good), Mane (good but not wonderful).. they might start to match Man U, Spurs and revitalised Chelsea, Arsenal. All of them will have gruelling European campaigns to think about so it's basically a scramble 3 from 5 to join City in Big Cash Pot Trophy every year.

FSG will sell up eventually though. Hopefully he doesn't get tired of them for another decade or so.

Yeah, just as long as it isn't another Dubai job. Not as though we don't have enough reasons to dislike them already but then to be directly associated with a Human Rights Abusing nation seeking affirmation through football club ownership.

And what infrastructure will be there when they do? They have one of the worst academies in the league and will soon have a stadium lagging behind everyone else in the top 7. CL football will not be guaranteed now that City broke up the old top 4. Of course a Mansour could come along but money isn’t really their issue at the moment it’s that they can’t attract the real top top talent because top players know they haven’t won anything meaningful in ages. The rest of the top 6 (perhaps Spurs aside) all have the same deep pockets anyway.
With their current resources I think it'd take a very special manager to get them the major prizes in the game. Reaching the CL final aside, that European campaign eventually underlined how far off the cream of Europe they are....and they will never have the strength of squad to win the PL. I honestly think Liverpool supporters are in the position of a lot of fans of non-elite teams in the PL: waiting and hoping that the industry receives a major convulsion and financial clout suddenly becomes less of an issue. They are going to hit the glass ceiling continually. Almost 30 years without a title win is no fluke. They may have spent a lot in that time - especially during the early part of the 21st century - but they've been left standing at the starting gate since then and it's not likely to end anytime soon.

Fekir fabiniho and Keita a brand new midfield is going to take the best part of a season to gel.
Having said that there replacing milner winaldum and Henderson which isn't hard

They will still be vunerable at the back even if they sign a new goalie but it's going to be a very attacking team.

@davek Klopp is that special manager though. At Dortmund he has history of performing above par and he's doing the same again with ourselves.

He's just got us into a CL final with a midfield consisting of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Milner.

All we can keep doing is getting ourselves in a position to challenge for the two big trophies and you would think we'll get over the line eventually. Over the last five years we've had two close calls in 2014 and now 2018. And now with hopefully Fekir coming in we'll have a midfield which will have us set to have another go again. It's hard to imagine with our front six how we won't be competing for one of the two big titles in the next few seasons.

@Saintdomingo Truth be told Spurs and Arsenal are a bit behind us for ambition. I agree the other three are ahead of us. Though Chelsea have taken a slight halt with their spending.

Spurs are being linked with the likes of Grealish whilst we're snapping up the best potential in Europe. Arsenal also seem to be in a funk. Signings OAP's like Lichtsteiner.

Good example of throwing players under the bus now that you have bought a new midfield. I suspect that you would have argued that your midfield was 'de best' in the league before the change. After all, it was always the defence that let you down (allegedly).

Nice reward for that midfield, binning them all in the next window. Then again it was a national embarrassment watching them even share a pitch with Modric Kroos and Isco so fair enough.

Klopp slowly sidelining the British core of Rodgers Liverpool side. Milner Henderson Ings Lallana clearly no longer trusted as first team players. Not one of the kids has been given even a sniff apart from Alexander Arnold (although apparently it’s Mourinho who doesn’t like youngsters - except for McTominay and Lingard...)

the bit were milner tried to do a stepover, stumbled and toepoked the ball away, I think that highlighted the real reason they lost that game

They got outclassed by Roma’s midfield too. They should never have even been in that final, the stars aligned for a lovely run but they were so far out their depth it was laughable. Barca City should have been the semi final to match Real Bayern. Either would have given Real a far better game than kick and rush fc.

Lucky for the free world, zidane is a far far cooler head than pep, who bottled it big time

@PITA Not at all. Most Liverpool fans were aware of of our limitations in midfield.

Our defence isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Since Van Dijk came in, we have conceded the least goals in the PL. Tied with City i believe.

Our midfield has been the big issue though. It's been dysfunctional all season Far too much braun and not enough creativity and skill in the advanced centre mid positions, and in DM.... Henderson's inability to build attacks and turn on the ball has been a massive handicap.

You got to the CL final by an inordinate amount of good fortune with your draw and a slew of ridiculous decisions against Citeh.

It was nothing to do with the yellow toothed bell.
