Spending money you don’t have chasing trophies to the point that you should go into administration only to be rescued by the establishment, sold off at an undercut price to new owners who then give you a blank cheque to go out and spend more in one calendar year than any team in the history of football has ever spent.

That would be financial doping in my eyes. You and City are in an arms race now that shows no sign of abating. Top managers in Europe don’t want to be managing in the bundesliga, Seria A, or Ligue un where quite frankly the competition is non existent which is why we’ve seen the top 6 in this country attract Guardiola Klopp Mourinho Conte Emery Sarri. Whilst Chelsea Arsenal and Spurs have tightened their belts though recently, you City and United have unlimited funds to buy whatever player you want in any position. Then you make out like it’s a miracle when you’re doing well in the league and in Europe.
I understand City are financial dopers, they are state owned, have owner linked commercial deals that are around 80% of their £235 million commercial revenues, City's owners also buy football clubs around the world for money laundering , and also created a company house in the Cayman Islands as a vehicle to divert player image rights and a % of players wages to bypass FFP wages to turnover ratio.

That is financial doping in essence, and they have already had their wrists slapped by UEFA with PSG, and also City have investigations ongoing UEFA PL for FFP violations thanks to their Cayman Islands vehicle that was exposed by that German newspaper.

Chelsea were football's first financial dopers, but Abramovich is owned £1.2 billion and he's curtailed the spending, he also has visa issues thanks to his close links to Putin and looks to have lost interest and is looking to sell, a big reason why Usmanov has no interesting in owning a club in the PL, Chelsea are also a self sufficient club now which was always Abramovich's aim when he bought the club.

City and Liverpool are the biggest financial dopers in the most financially doped league in the world. Horrific Chelsea and Arsenal teams will most likely contest the Europa league final and we could also see Spurs in the CL final.

Until something changes in the economic landscape of European football their presence in the CL latter stages will continue. Only two clubs in Europe can pay the wages necessary to compete with the prem in Madrid and Barca. If they have an off year then there are no teams who can stand against the prem’s top 3. Spurs blasted Dortmund away like it was nothing and Liverpool the same with Bayern. Rather than Ajax being exceptional I think Juve and Madrid were just poor. The likes of Juve PSG and Bayern have destroyed competition in their own league and now cannot experience the level of competition required to play against a City or Liverpool at full throttle.
madrid and barca can pretty much buy who they want, including any of the players currently playing in the top 6, juve also have the means to spend big, last 2 summers 230m spent ronaldo getting 500k a week. bayern have 13 players earning an average of 150 a week. PSG spent 200m on neymar. those teams have the quality they just dont have the work rate, city/spus/liverpool have

barcelonas legs went after 70 mins yesterday, this after each player being rested over the weekend, liverpool played 3 end to end games in 6 days and still had more left in the tank, quality costs money but work rate any player in any league can do that, just look at straqualarsi. premier league teams are there on merit, they work harder then players in any other league

Bad news for those who want the City/Liverpool hegemony to be broken....Chelsea's transfer ban has been upheld.

I have far more faith in Ajax than I do Spurs. Ajax should be able to match the RS' intensity, which is where Barca dismally fell short last night. Ajax have the pace in their team to exploit Liverpool's full backs in behind and to a man, they are all playing the best football of their careers right now whereas Spurs are in dreadful form.

I fully expect the RS to win the final but Spurs I believe would definitely be the path of least resistance.
