I cannot believe someone on here called the CL a consolation prize, utterly bizarre.

The winners this year Will be earning £140 million from cash prize and tv money, on top of that new commercial partners throwing money at the winning club, and also growing a bigger lucrative fanbase.

It's the biggest club trophy on the planet by far.

Look at the How badly Abramovich wanted that trophy, and look at the 2 state run plastic teams, City are paying Guardiola £18 million a year for him to win them that trophy, The Qatar Royal family are selling PSG because of the failure of their investment, the Emir of Qatar wants that trophy so badly that he's willing to sell up and buy Roma and go again to try and win it.

Juve didn't sign Ronaldo to sell shirts, they crave that trophy more than anything, same with Bayern who sacked managers who flop in the competition, Madrid winning in those 7 CL's between 1998-2018 gave up the leagues to concentrate on winning the CL.

And this was Messi at a kit unveiling to a packed Camp Nou this summer with an announcement.

City would have rather won the Champions League.

I bet you’re sweating behind that computer desperate to shout “6 times” you fountain pushing creep.

Literally the only thing I'd take from that lot is their belief.
No matter how crap they are they always believe they can win.
The biggest example I can think of is when they leveled in the cup semi final, I and every around me just knew they'd go on to score again.
Even at 3-0 down they were sure they'd win

It is one of the advantages of possessing almost supernatural levels of delusion tbf

I cannot believe you put so much effort in that post the day after your team beat Barcelona 4-0.

City and Liverpool are the biggest financial dopers in the most financially doped league in the world. Horrific Chelsea and Arsenal teams will most likely contest the Europa league final and we could also see Spurs in the CL final.

Until something changes in the economic landscape of European football their presence in the CL latter stages will continue. Only two clubs in Europe can pay the wages necessary to compete with the prem in Madrid and Barca. If they have an off year then there are no teams who can stand against the prem’s top 3. Spurs blasted Dortmund away like it was nothing and Liverpool the same with Bayern. Rather than Ajax being exceptional I think Juve and Madrid were just poor. The likes of Juve PSG and Bayern have destroyed competition in their own league and now cannot experience the level of competition required to play against a City or Liverpool at full throttle.

They haven’t won a anything yet though. The build up will be nauseating but it’s still a 90 minute game against a very good team on a neutral venue. Klopp’s record outside of Anfield this season to decent opposition is average as is his record in finals. Let them all think they’ve won it already. The scenes if they lost another one to Ajax or especially Spurs would be unbelievable.

The final will be a 50 50 game. Especially if it’s Spurs who actually stood up to them at Anfield very well.

Last year they were more underdogs but by no means is the trophy in the Anfield cabinet already. There’ll be a huge challenge for Klopp to overcome against either team with a European ref and VAR in play. This won’t be the same as pumping teams at Anfield.

If Dembele had burried his chance, then Barca wouldnt have been chucked out and overcoming a 4-0 deficit is a more psychological blow than overcoming 3-0.
