ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Christ, Billy Bragg posted this earlier: "Liverpool's amazing comeback against Barcelona last night was a victory for collective action against the cult of the brilliant individual. The Reds lived up to Bill Shankly's ideals."

And of course everyone pointing out that Liverpool are not exactly a workers' collective gets called a gammon and accused of being salty.

Yes, not supporting Liverpool means I'm a gammon. Whatevs. I voted Remain and I've never voted Tory in my life, but Liverpool are the woke team, the socialist team, and if you hate them you might as well just piss on the memorial to the 96.

I saw that too. I swear I've gone from Bolshevik to Jacob Rees Mogg fan in less than 24 hours.

I'm not. I answered. You have no logical basis for your crowing here: the reason the Liverpool win is being toasted so much is why? Because it was from 3-0 down to a very good team. Do you think it'd be the toast of town if they'd hauled the deificit back against Porto or some other average CL team?

They were mullered on the night. Ordinarily, though, they'd beat Liverpool in any amount of games you could choose for them to play. They are not a vintage Barcelona team, no. That was never claimed. The claim was that they had the chance to make history and join those vintage teams as record equals.

I hope this answers your question.

You haven’t answered the question you’ve been avoiding though, about you being a fan or a supporter. A supporter goes the game. A fan just watches the game on TV. Do you actually go the game or are you just an armchair fan. Simple question. Again, People are entitled to follow whoever they want, but you don’t throw accusations concerning me. You’re the one that accused me of my allegiances, to read that accusation from someone that doesnt actually go and SUPPORT them with their hard earned wages is tough to take. I’ve given this club thousands of my hard earned money whilst you throw accusations around whilst you sit in front of a TV. I don’t leave any opinions on match threads as I go the match and then chew the fat with fellow Blues that go the match as I think their opinions are more valid. Yours? Not so.

I don't know what's worse, May comparing Brexit to Liverpool or Billy Bragg claiming their win is a victory for socialism.

I mean, did she miss the part about Klopp being very vocally pro-Remain?

I am sticking by my "the devil is letting them get close every year only to let them fall at the last" theory.

It has been correct for the last 5 years or so, even when all seems lost.

On that basis, I expect City and Ajax/Spurs to be the winners this year.

We have to believe
Same here mate, just imagine the scenes if Spurs beat them in the final. I reckon I could just about stomach a Spurs victory to see that.
