We don't agree often Davek, but yes, this is how I see it too.
Then it is just one game left, they either win or lose. They basically won it last night so it cannot get any worse but they still have a lot to lose.

They want the CL more than the league. It gets them more attention which is ultimately what they live off.

Who are you to decide what’s a supporter? What if someone has been going the game for years, and then decided to stop going? Does their opinion become worthless the moment they make that personal decision to stop going? I’m very interested to know this.

Again, a supporter is someone who SUPPORTS their club, a fan is someone who follows their club thru media. I SUPPORT my club financially. If you stopped going the game, you have stopped supporting them but still remain a fan. That’s the way it is. The clue is in the words. I assist my Club, therefore I support them. Obviously their opinion doesnt become redundant if they’ve stopped going but it has less validity in my eyes as they don’t see what I see, and probably, form an opinion by the commentary they have heard watching it. Who is Dave to accuse me of being a RS? Who’s the biggest fan then? Someone who goes every game or someone that just watches it? The answer is the person that goes and SUPPORTS them. I give my support, vocally and financially. Just google ‘support’ and here’s the result............

Erm, so if you buy some merchandise and watch the game on telly what are you?

So you are not a supporter of this forum? But a fan of it?

Oh right, interesting. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 5 years but decided mid way through the season that I wanted to stop going. At what point did I stop becoming a supporter? Because my money was still going to the club every month despite the fact I wasn’t going the match.

What if Dave contributes monetarily to the club outside of match tickets? What if he donates to EITC, or buys replica kits, merchandise etc? He is still “supporting” the club by your own definition. He’d be giving his hard earned cash to the club off his own back. Would you retract your statement and call him a supporter then?

You haven’t answered the question you’ve been avoiding though, about you being a fan or a supporter. A supporter goes the game. A fan just watches the game on TV. Do you actually go the game or are you just an armchair fan. Simple question. Again, People are entitled to follow whoever they want, but you don’t throw accusations concerning me. You’re the one that accused me of my allegiances, to read that accusation from someone that doesnt actually go and SUPPORT them with their hard earned wages is tough to take. I’ve given this club thousands of my hard earned money whilst you throw accusations around whilst you sit in front of a TV. I don’t leave any opinions on match threads as I go the match and then chew the fat with fellow Blues that go the match as I think their opinions are more valid. Yours? Not so.
Consider yourself lucky you’re able to go .... I’m sure most of us on here would love to be in a similar position, doesn’t make you a better supporter.

After my previous posts, do you really need me to explain that? We wouldn’t be having this conversation if @davek wouldnt have accused me of being one of them. He sits in his chair and watches it, maybe he buys merchandise. He’s a fan. I’m a supporter, there’s a difference. I support my team, vocally and financially, not to mention the time put in supporting them. I make huge sacrifices supporting this team. He doesn’t, other than the odd 90mins in front of a monitor, yet he calls me out on my support because I have a different opinion to his, albeit, an opinion that not many like. He’s just a keyboard warrior and an example of the modern day fan, one that sits in front of a computer all day coming out with drive and nonsense.

Never known anything like it, everyone around me in bolton is buzzing for them, some even wanting to go to the final.....this from the same fans who cant stand United for all the jcl’s and glory weapons!!!!!
