Liverpool unfairly disadvantaged in title race...because Klopp "had to" keep on picking a core of first team players (all five of them) for every match this season.

Candlelight vigil on the steps of St Georges plateau this Friday night 8.0'clock.

Haha, surely the headline should be:

Liverpools big disadvantage, they have spunked loads of money on midfielders and still have to play Henderson every game.

Can be eloquently summarised as ‘Klopp bought a pair of midfield duds in the summer, Sarri bought two world class midfielders for less than we spent, Guardiola still has the best team, Spurs didn’t spend anything and we can’t get away from them, life’s not fair’

Yeah 1878 wooden seats in an end behind the goal, which is actually a good idea, as it could replicate the noise of everyone standing up as we close down on goal
It also means that when people vacate the ground 10 minutes before the end everyone will hear the seats flipping back up.

Barcelona want Firmino, what Barca want Barca get.
Morning lurkers

I hope he doesn’t go. I can see why he’d want to. Would give him an edge up on Jesus for the Brazil 11. Liverpool would rinse Barca for him though when in reality he’s probably only got a season or two of headless chicken running left in him. He’s not a world class number 9 and now that Salah seems to be in the doldrums he’s not doing much. Would be typical Liverpool tog et a record bid in for him then go and buy someone actually good. We need a bit of Klopp stubbornness to flog this team until it breaks and they’re left in a season of twos time with three forwards no one will touch all on mega contracts.

I agree with most of what you say but for me he’s the RS best player.

Exactly. Klopp did what Koeman did last summer: bought a load of tat for a bundle. If he fails this season he'll be out on his ear.

It was more a comment on age not ability, i.e. 'certainly not a player for the long term'.

I could see him going as a back up player to Barca’s front three if he would accept that. Liverpool would probably price him out though. Must be galling for him watching his mate Coutinho go from being in and out of the Brazil squad at Liverpool to having the team built around him all because he moved to Barca where he immediately picked up a league title. Firmino meanwhile is left on Brazil’s bench and running decoy runs for Salah for 90 minutes every single game. If they finish the season empty handed there’ll be sea change there. Some of those Liverpool forward players were told they were the best in the world last season. However erroneous that was and is, it won’t stop them demanding the pay packet or trophy haul that goes with that status.

I know for certain Firminho was not interested in signing a new contract with them and was happy to run it down last year.

I was really shocked to suddenly hear he had signed but I would not be surprised at all if there’s some sort of clause in there for Barca.

Fingers crossed.

ermm, yeah, that's why it's always the teams with the best squads that win the league, not best XI. If they're too thick to realise this has always been the case it exaplains why they've never won the league.

like how they've included arsenal, spurs etc in here as their "rivals", thought it was only a two horse race?

The thing that amuses me is the Echo piling up their excuses foir the inevitable boom-bust outcome.

They really are the arse cloths of Liverpool FC.
