ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

They’ll put 3 or 4 past Arsenal, they just leave themselves wide open to how the RS play
Emre can outmanoeuvre Klopp. He's already proven that in a big game.

Liverpool playing conservatively this season. That means they're not going to start dipping in and out of a high press. They'll allow Arsenal to come onto them. Klopp thinks he's a cute manager tactically speaking. He's not. He has one thing going for him as I see it: he motivates players. But when Plan A fails he hasn't got the smarts to deal with it.

They are so jammy that the year their forwards are gash they find 2 quality CB's in Gomez and VVD. 1 injury to either of those and they are done.

It’s the RS though Dave, it’s Sod’s law that someone will roll over for them in the next few games and get a spanking so the media can continue their jizz fest over them, and I would put money on it being Arsenal.

I share that concern. I just dont see this Liverpool team blowing any top team away this season though. They look like they want to operate with a small margin for error in each game and if you do that against very good teams who are in form it can be the exact wrong way to play. Who knows, maybe Klopp looks at the last 5 games where they've been pretty much average-to-chronic and thinks "better get back to the gegenpress". If so, the Arsenal game could be different than the way I see it working out. However, I think Klopp is determined to keep a solid defensive shape this season until such a point that they slip off the title pace. I dont envisage Arsenal getting pinned in their own defensive third. Klopp knows how impressive Arsenal are on the counter and with strikers bang in form.

RS mate reckons Dave that Klopp has learned from last season that going all out from the off was the wrong thing to do because they eventually ran out of steam, so he’s setting up to do enough to win games.

If you watched both the City game and the RS game today, well then...

Do I even need to comment?!? There is a HUGE gulf of ability between the 2 sides.

City didn't even shift out of 3rd gear and they went on a rampage! AND they've got KDB back now.
It's over for this season again. Last 5 games underlines that.

If I were a City fan I;d be keeping a closer eye on both Chelsea, who dug out a draw with good character today against an always tough opponent; and I'd be nervously eyeing Spurs knowing that if they turned City over next game it'd be 5 wins on the bounce and they leapfrog City...and they've started horrendously for them. Liverpool I wouldn't lose any sleep over: they've looked borderline clueless most of the time in the last month.

A theory that's designed to explain away a team that's stalled badly, tbf.

They've been medicocre at best for a long time. Klopp couldn't control any of the last 5 games. So much for game management and playing within themselves.

They just don’t look anything special tbh.......I just watched City absolutely demolish Burnley, having watched the RS gain a very fortunate result over Huddersfield.....

It was inevitable that they were going to run out of steam... The 'boom-bust' as it's called :p.

I can't believe there were some lads who were genuinely petrified at the start of the season that this was going to be 'the season'! Why? Because they signed Keita, who was suppose to be the second coming and because they let the media BS kopite wank-fest get into their heads.

I never fretted for a second. It's like groundhog day with this lot.

I must say though, they appear to be ahead of schedule... The 'boom-bust' doesn't usually occur till late November/early December.

:D

Thank you Dave! That was exactly what I told a manc mate of mine at the start of the season! He came to me in a huff and puff and said: 'They signed Keita! That's it! We might as well give them the league!' He then proceeded to show me a 2 minute youtube video that was specifically designed to make Keita look like some sort of Messi/Ronaldo hybrid.

I just laughed and said... 'Mate, what about all the other minutes from the rest of the matches?!?'

His opinion this afternoon? 'Apologies mate. City are the true contenders. Liverpool are just the pretenders!' :p:p:p

Any kopites lurking out there? C'mon lads, sing along with me:'Ohhhhh, yes we are the great pretenders!' (certainty sounds better than that walk alone rubbish you lot mindlessly bellow out before each match).
