ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Very much this, it will be a technique that isn't commonly know and is currently outside of the scope of the rules/testing techniques but the amount of physical work without any fatigue injuries is amazeballs.
Reckon if there's anything shady going on it's more likely something bog standard - it sounds a lot easier to beat the drugs testers in football with steroids from the 1950s, than come up with some scientific breakthrough in physiology that no one else knows about.
Pep not above a bit of extra help himself - nandrolone IIRC, but I reckon there's zero chance of anything structured being in place at the RS or City. All sport drug cultures in the West need plausible deniability for the clubs.

Premier League footballers get tested more than any other population of elite athletes in the UK. Each one is tested on average 4 times a year in and out of competition. Anabolic steroids are insanely easy to detect and probably detrimental to preventing tendon injuries given that whilst increasing muscle mass they don't strengthen the tendons and ligaments around them.

Since 2017 the Premier League is operating under WADA's biological passport scheme which uses statistical modelling of those regular blood tests to raise a red flag on anyone who's levels of 3 or 4 different markers show an unnatural relation to each other.

Basically, blood doping in premier league football is almost impossible. My conclusion is that their conditioning staff are really good at their job or they've just been lucky and will regress to the mean at some point.

Teams have had momentum before. It hasn’t allowed them to get plus 95 points (consecutively for City and probably Liverpool after this season). Yeah City have had some ACL injuries, and Liverpool had Gomez and AOC with leg breakers as you say but where’s the fatigue injuries? Where’s the hamstring pulls, the calf strains, the type that used to see some of our best players miss games, the type that United are now suffering with across their front line, that Kante has only just come back from, that Messi seems to be hobbling off with every week. You don’t see City or Liverpool picking these up barely at all (especially Liverpool who have now gone close to 2 seasons without any serious absence to any of Van Dijk Salah Mane Firmino.

These players have done back to back CL campaigns up to the final mixed in with a world cup year and an AFCON. Spurs took about a quarter of last season to get over the World Cup and were resting some players from the start. We got hit massively at the start of 14/15 on the back of it. You hit last season playing a team that would have had minimal time off at all and flogged them every single game up until the CL final again and there wasn’t even a hint of fatigue at any point. Away to Barca, away to Newcastle and then Barca at home in the space of a few days. Barca rested their whole first 11 whilst yours played at Newcastle. You then just ran over them like it was nothing, men v boys, world class players bull dozed by players who were on the back of 4 games in about ten days yet were physically on a different level. Absolutely ridiculous.
Ole had his team doing a intense Pre Season and they are suffering with that stupid decision, insiders were claiming he wanted to have his team playing a high pressing game but to play that style you need a top Sports Science program, Nutritionists and also most important years of coaching that style which seems Ole didn't have a clue about and now they are suffering with soft tissue injuries which screams of doing to much in pre season.

But hey United won the pre season by going unbeaten.

First time the rs have lost a trophy in September ever. How many trophies have they won already this season? Was it about 8 or something?

They're a bunch of big ejits.

I think there’s a lack of a whistleblower. No one wants to upset the apple cart, why would they? Even in cycling one of the dirtiest sports going there’s only hard evidence coming out now from races 7 years ago.

It will be cutting edge stuff, same as it was in cycling that is in the grey area of current anti doping laws and would be so difficult to prove.

I’m in absolutely no doubt it occurs though. Watching the City Liverpool matches last season were ridiculous. Bernardo Silva who has (had) no pace, David Silva (33 - no pace at any point in his career) Fernandinho (over 30) were engaging in a ridiculously high paced pressing match with Liverpool’s souped up midfield who have been able to run over everyone else in the league.

No one can live with these teams. People throw up the example of Norwich etc. but that was just pure luck, same as Palace last season, City rained down 20 shots and Norwich scored from their three.

Last two seasons we have seen a long-standing premier league points record beaten three times. The winning run record beaten by both sides. Goals for records being obliterated. All of this against the backdrop of even more games occurring for these teams to handle. I can’t buy that teams including Milner Henderson Matip etc. are better than the likes of the 08 United team or 05 Chelsea team yet their numbers are just abnormal bettered only by a freak City team both of whom are so far ahead of everyone else in Europe it’s embarassing.

You also have to factor in, the PL is a lot stronger than the PL in 08. It's not normal what they are doing.

Really? The Premier League, outside of the Top 2 and maybe Spurs as the third best team, is dreadful. I can't quite remember who every team in 08 had playing for them, but we were pretty strong around that time, Spurs and Villa too as teams who would challenge what was a very strong top 4.

The likes of United and Arsenal are genuinely awful now, Chelsea also have their weakest squad in about 15 years. Sheffield United, Norwich, Villa, Newcastle, Watford, Crystal Palace - these teams are absolutely dreadful.

I think Wolves ended the argument of the Premier League having depth to it last season when they went from promotion to a comfortable 7th place finish. That doesn't happen in a strong league.
