ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

That was a penalty though. Once the ref had given it they were never going to reverse it. In the World Cup even if the ref hadn't given it VAR would. The problem is the rules, where any contact is a foul, encouraging players to exaggerate and referees to give way more fouls than when I started watching.

So say the same thing had happened at the other end, and a Leicester player had gone to ground easily.... The ref would have waived play on... VAR would have looked at it.. Do you think the VAR officials would have ruled that the ref had made a 'clear and obvious error'??....

Nope...

And that's where VAR has been set up to allow the normal bias to big clubs, and Liverpool in particular...

The ref will always award Liverpool penos, and as long as there's slight contact (even if the player dives), VAR will back his decision

It is bollocks. United created chance after chance in the last minutes of the game. They didn't have a technology run by unaccountable people to give them a goal.

You're actually saying that was a pen, btw?

FFS. Give it a 'kin rest.

Your opinion doesn’t count though does it? The referee gave a penalty and they scored from it.

Tell you what, let’s follow your logic, because you said it wasn’t, they never scored? Make you feel a bit better? Funny old game you follow mate. It doesn’t matter what you or any other poster thinks about the decision, it was given. Get over it.

Really? Thanks for telling me that. If everyone followed YOUR logic there'd be no forums.

Just seen the highlights online. Yes, be honest, it was a penalty, a soft one yeah, but defo a penalty. Christ knows what selective angle you chose to see. And don't we all have bigger things to sob into our pints over. Thank God Leeds lost so my mates might be gentle.
No mate. A corrupt one.

Watch the second replay, the one from pitch level. Watch when the contact gets made, watch the delay and watch the angle at which he throws himself. The outside of his left ankle is touched which means that in order to fall, all of his weight must fall to the right. However, his movement comes completely through the left side of his body. It is also noted that he goes down holding the wrong ankle and completes a roll on the floor:

He is a cheat.
