ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Is it just me who can’t understand why City are favourites for the title?
They were a million miles off them all season, nowhere near them last season, and have brought in two players, one an unknown, the other a not particularly great cb, and they’ve lost Silva and Sane, two class players.

Aguero is injured and they seem no nearer to getting a CB, Koulibaly rumoured to be going to PSG. They arguably need 2 CB’s and maybe a LB too. Obviously it’s just opinion, but I don’t see how City can be clear favourites, And reading Some City fans online and they are a bit worried too.

Liverpool have been quite playing average at best for months, even pre Watford you could see this fall off in form coming. Since Watford they’ve been quite poor but the warning signs were all there even before then.

Their buys, Thiago and Jota aren’t particularly great, nor do they particularly improve them as a team either, regardless of what their hype machine tells us.

Would I be excited if we signed Jota, most definitely not.

City underachieved last year after being stitched up by the officials at Anfield. Liverpool overachieved for long periods which gave them enough in the bank once they went back down to normal.

City also showed the difference in quality when they matched up against their full strength team, out to prove a point, towards the end of the season.

Normal service will be resumed this year. I think Liverpool will finish 3rd or 4th and I expect them to lose Sunday against Chelsea, despite this being the best time to play them.

I woudn't have inded Jota on loan, or for a nominal fee. I'm seeing a deal starting at £35m. That seems nuts to me. He's a very tidy player but not at that fee. Their will be a big whack to Mendes well on top.

Why would you sell Brewster and Origi for around 35-40m to go and spend it on this lad?
