ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Between VAR and this new rule that lets teams give the ball away inside their own box from goal kicks, they're going to take some stopping.

Happy for these media coronations to carry on for now, though. The only thing that ever seems to slow them is the weight of expectation.

Dom says hello.
This just reinforces what people are saying. If you think that RS players have dived less than Everton players in the last 7 seasons then you live in cloud cuckoo land.
All that is saying is that Everton players get booked when they do but RS don’t. FFS Suarez alone dived more in ‘that’ season than Everton’s total. As ever, bias towards the darling clubs.

Despite them being top, it's very noticeable looking across social media many of their fans are more interested in reveling in the woes of us and United than crowing about the position they're in.

They are going to win it so the best form of attack is to keep telling them that they have got it in the bag and if it happens tell them they fully deserved it .
This will totally confuse them and if a miracle happens and City win we can rip them to bits.

This is also my approach. Any of them gloat just reply with a simple 'well played' and nothing more. Nowhere for them to go with that and it'll drive them mad.

Let's be honest for a minute.

They are a superb team, and if they win the league they deserve it.
Are they really? As I and other people have pointed out there are other teams that had far better squads and managers and weren't destroying teams like they are. A Man United teams containing VDS, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand,Scholes, Anderson, Fletcher, Carrick, Park Ji Sung, Nani, Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tevez didn't do as well as Liverpool are. Look at the previous City and Chelsea teams, they're better in terms of squad than Liverpool. So it's either the other teams are rubbish, Klopp has figured out some magical training method, that makes a squad of players able to play almost every game and not get tired or something dodgy is going on such as drugs.
Man City are a great side, but there are no average players in their squad, all of them are world class, that's not the case with Liverpool. I don't know how an average player such as Milner has suddenly, become a world beater towards the end of his career in a position he never originally played in. It also helps when goalkeepers give you goals and referees give you penalties in the 95th minute. I expected them to get a last minute goal against Leicester, it's like a Hollywood movie watching them.

Remember when Mane got sent off the other year against City? They got webbed all over the park 5-0, but the bleating and inquests in the media over the next week were all 'well if Mane hadn't been sent off...'. It was FIVE nil. And they were already losing. Plus let's not forget that he if his foot was any higher he might as well have gone at the keeper with a samurai sword shouting 'Banzai!!' Half the bloody season they kept whingeing about that one

If that happens after what is essentially an aerial assault on an opponent's head, how likely is it for a ref to stand up to them on a close call?

I don't believe there's any organised, direct conspiracy - there are too many billionaires involved with the other clubs who are very, very powerful men for that to happen unopposed. But that media onslaught is gong to have the same effect indirectly. It can't fail to. The moment Jamie Carragher was allowed to shout 'Mo Farrah, you dancer!!' in his commentary without any comeback was the final nail in the coffin of 'unbiased' coverage.

You'd think they'd be embarrassed by it, but they're all like spoilt little kids who want all the toys so that the other kids can't play with them, even if it means they have no friends. What a very very sad way to live your life.

Totally agree with this. Decision against them = media coverage all week. Decision for them = not mentioned. It's not difficult to work out what a ref's going to do in that situation. Poll almost admitted as much when he said he wouldn't send John Terry off because he was England captain. It's even worse nowadays with the kopite infested media waiting to pounce.

Although, if you're a businessman (and your club isn't going to win it), Liverpool winning it is best for business... They have the biggest fan base, they will deliver the entire Premier league the best TV deal at home and Worldwide...

Not saying United, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc owners want Liverpool to win the league.... But its alot financially better for everyone than years of City or Leicester (zero fan base) winning the league...

So, to sum up. Sky, The Premier League, the referees, VAR and the FA are all in on the conspiracy for them to win the League. The establishment, the media, the BBC and all the pundits all have an MO to give them favourable publicity. The Police are all in on it too. Anyone else I’ve missed? Oh, and they’re all on PEDs too. Anything else I’ve missed. This place is embarrassing sometimes.
Yip, I think this thread is now at this point.... lol 68262

There is no conspiracy. I agree they don't seem to get as many injuries. considering the high energy way they play. I was listening to the radio last night and they were talking about how Alberto Salazar was using testosterone on his own grown-up sons to see how much you could administer before you got flagged up by a drugs test, and how high testosterone levels help athletes recover much quicker from high energy activity. That got me wondering if such methods were being used anywhere in the football world.

I remember reading when Ancelotti took over at Bayern how angry he was that Klopp had poached Bayern's Fitness coach and Nutritionist who were part of Heynkes high energy Bayern team, that team was a pressing machine that conquered all.

Apparently Guardiola wanted to have the Nutritionist to work at City in a dual role as well as he'd work with her before at Bayern but that got rebuffed.
