Jamo Martinez
Player Valuation: £70m
The definition of a flat track bully. He’s talked about as one of the greatest midfield players of all time. He wasn’t even the best in that England team, and it’s arguable whether Alonso wasn’t better than him in that Liverpool team. When he was at his peak he would win a match singlehandedly but then disappear in the next game which is one of the reasons why he didn’t win a league.
He was obviously a very very good player but some people pundits put him in their greatest 11s of all time. That for me is overrating him.
Very good player. Never a great player.
Lauded by the media because he was the prototype premier League English player. Technically decent while still maintaining the typical british characteristics of run all day, never say die attitude and kick a ball dead hard.
Funnily enough, he'd be perfect for their current team of duracell rabbits.
