ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I mean, if only there was a warning sign this might happen, like a club he did exactly the same to somewhere else, maybe in his previous job? If only he'd have given them a warning.

As for this it's utterly embaressing. Moyes is often held up as the archetypal manager who collpased when given a top job. The ultimate bottler. He inherited a worse United team, completely on the way down (with Van Persie singularly taking them to the title that season) and he finished 25 points down across a season. 5 of those dropped points were down to Giggs losing against Sunderland and drawing v Hull as well. So really Moyes was probably 22/20 points down on the previous year.

Klopp is already 30+ points down. He's completely botched this season to epic proportions.

One final point, this is the performance level with a 3 month re-charge when it was about to go kaput last season too. He's lucky he had that break, as it allowed for a bit of a recharge and his players to have a break. Without that, I genuinely think they'd be bottom 6 now, and could well have throw the league away last season.
Their record since football came back last summer must be horrendous. I cant be arsed looking it up, but it must be something like 60% of the games either drawn or lost.

The continued absence of fans has really hurt us financially but it has crippled them. No happy day trippers from Norway and the Home Counties spending fortunes in the club shop on match day. As a result....kabak and Davies signed as defensive cover in the past window. Did they honestly believe these players were of the necessary standard? Of course they aren’t but they don’t have the money to address the slide. FSG have never shown any inclination to put their hands in their pockets to invest. The purchases of VVD and Becker was only due to the sale of Coutinho.

Great point mate. Just to add in as well, the wage bill when they signed them was around £250m. It's now at least £350m- bigger than City's for context. Even if they made a big sale, there's no guarentee they could re-invest that now anyway with the wage bill as it is.

It's normally the sort of thing I would want to look up, but since that Watford game I'd imagine they would be just better than half way. All the "just get Van Dijk back" shouts, a lot of those games were with a peak-pre career threatening injury Van Dijk. It goes deeper than that.

Did you see the latest article on old Lazarus himself in the Athletic recently?

Even in the best of times it's not what FSG do anyway. They dont throw loads of cash at their 'sports franchises'. Theylre quite 'happy' to fall from the top and to get back up there again eventually. Klopp cant hack that.

I try to steer clear of reading that stat attack BS tome, tbh. I have a subscription linked to me but never hardly used.

Well basically they did something on Van Dijks recovery. I think Pearce (or Hughes) took the deadline from one person involved to say he was going to be back stronger than ever. It was the guy who was working closely with him, I think on behalf of the club. Very little detail. Essentially a propaganda bit, which they choose as the headline.

There was then a load more quotes from various medical professionals essentially stating rushing it back risks re-injury and means you don't return at your best. People essentially saying it's 12 months until you should be back, cutting corners is stupid, and you're back probably and 10-11 months until you are anywhere approaching your best. They spoke to doctors, knee specialists and players who's suffered the same injury. Point to Laporte, who was very much VVD esque and how he still isn't close to being a regular again 18 months on etc. Essentially all evidence, apart from the fella working closely with him, is it's still a logn road back.

Yet you know what they chose for the title. They are just giving people false hope which is counter factual. From a positive perspective for them, at least they are discussing VVD return, there seems to be no talk on Gomez at all.

They are going to regret the day they let Klopp had that one season too many to destroy his squad.

Yes, I thought it was deliberate myself, hence my confusion, I wondered why, even after looking at TV, he never got sent off

What seems to be missed, is there is the initial contact on the shoulder, which Calvert Lewin recovers from, but Arnold then sticks his leg up and deliberately trips him. That seems to have been lost by the imbeciles who support them, who can add "can't watch a video clip for 5 seconds" to the list of things they can't do.

Absolute [Poor language removed] joke of a decision for that penalty, he barely even looks at it.

As for the performance, I think we were alright like. I’ve seen far worse in this fixture and we’ve ended up winning, Everton incredibly fortunate to win that 2-0.

The only positive I can take from that is at least that result as happened with none of their fans able to see it in the ground.

....Does someone want to break it to him about their 30 year wait to see them lift the title?
