ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They are all the actions of right wing Labour councillors acting in conjunction with the civil service mandarins the Tories sent up to run the place.

You get Eurovision and Klopp the Freeman of Liverpool in such a bent system.

They all made sure that Paisley Shankly Dalglish Gerrard and Klopp have them.

Dean Ball Catterick Kendall obviously not as befitting as the gurning German

A player who's dined out on a story of a HT CL final turnaround penalty shoot out win is obviously a more worthy recipient than the greatest English goal scorer of all time and a world cup winner.

Apparently, the good burghers of Liverpool thought it wasn't all that....whereas the utter tat-monger that is Jimmy McGovern was worthy of a Freeman award for...erm...portraying the city as a midden.

?‍♂️

I never even knew there was a Freedom of Liverpool badge to sew on your swimming trunks. Apparently Harry Kane got the Freedom of London recently, "for his outstanding achievements in sport".

Not joking, and no, me neither.

If its a recent thing, cant quite get why Gerrard S and Klopp J somehow trump the achievements of Rooney W.

Nearest I can recall for a blue was David France, who recieved a Citizen of Honour award.
I did that function, all Everton themed, think it was organised by the lad that does NSNO.
I asked at the time why he wasn't made a Freeman, and the reply was only so many are nominated in any time frame, not a good answer imho.
I did lits of Freeman events and the most worthy were the Hillsborough 'families'. Such humility and dignity, ordinary people who appreciated the recognition from other 'ordinary people'.
It seemed to go all hollywood soon after as the CMS offices saw an.opportunity for some jollies.

That midfield and defence will be ragged all over the shop.

I wouldn't rule out Benfica or Bayern battering them over two legs, and if Madrid get hold of them it'll be a bloodbath.
Err, you seem to ignore the dubious refs falling for a Gerrardesque swandive in the corner of the penalty area (unassisted of course). Or the 6 fouls Fabinho is allowed to make without so much as a ticking off.

Apparently only Paisley and Klopp, unless the list is incomplete. Also John Moores but he had fingers in both pies and like as not it was Littlewoods related (plus of course he didn't manage or play football).

That said Klopp is keeping company with one Rex Makin. Surprised he accepted it now.

Only John Moors with an overt Everton connection has received one...and he had LFC connections too.

There’s a few different lists but there’s one with Dalglish, his wife, and then Gerrard on it
