ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

So if it was a different song you would be ok? Land Of Hope and Glory for example?

How about Jerusalem?

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountain green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
I reckon most nations national anthems are jingoistic nonsense if examined.
At least the French and Italian have nailed a belting rousing tune to get the blood pumping before a big game

Majority of Liverpool fans probably don’t know what they are booing.

They don't believe we should have a monarchy in 21st century.

Nothing else to it.

The media who are all over the monarchy want to twist it into meaning Liveroool is against the rest of England or think they are hard done by. Because "it's not the moncarchy they are booing"
Poor scousers and their "victimhood".

No.

I've got no problem with loathing them I'll take the Pepsi challenge with you. You're from Knowsley then, Knowsley is one of the most impoverished places in the Uk. How can you possibly dislike an anti-establishment protest from people from your own city/region? Regardless of their footy team. If you drive from Prescot down Prescot road through Dovecot you see a mural of a lad and a girl side by side. One red one Blue. I hate them with a venom when it comes to football, but when it comes to this city and all that stuff... I don't care if you're blue, red or a cricket fan. They hate us, and I hate them. We've got Eurovision here next week (not my bag at all it's a load of cheese) but it's great for the city. Lies vile right now. Let's not applaud the people who've made it vile. Good on them shower for turning up and booing tonight.
Absolutely no way that liverpool fans were making an anti establishment protest yesterday; they were having a 'lets make the day about us' singalong.

If they want to be anti-establishment they can try not supporting a club that was founded by a tory on fundamental tenets of tory ideology.

I just had the news on Talk Sport, its actually a story, so other grounds play it but its a story about them playing it, lets make the day about us is right

Reality is the city of Liverpool is in the majority, anti establishment. What that shower of wet wipes have done is move it from a political stance to an, as usual, marketing stance.
I don't boo the anthem, I don't sing it. Not my king etc.
But there is a hugely historical set of reasons for this city being anti establishment, like Churchill sending watships up the Mersey, Thatcher and Ingham etc etc.
The establishment have always took on this city because it stood up for itself, and more importantly, for others.
