ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The Athletic's Kopite chimp Simon Hughes struggling today to justify matters:

On Henderson...

"It is widely thought within Saudi that the club is poised for an imminent acquisition by the petrochemical giant SABIC (Saudi Arabia Basic Industry Corp). In any future argument about his decisions, perhaps Henderson will try to point towards SABIC creating employment in his native north east of England. In 2007, the company bought the Huntsman chemical factory in Teesside. Within its sphere of interest, SABIC has a reputation for competence and innovation."

On Gerrard....

"There has been less focus on him moving to Saudi Arabia than Henderson because he has never positioned himself as pillar of social values. He would not have taken on the role with Al Ettifaq without the money but the job gives him the chance to step away from the spotlight and reset his managerial philosophy."

How 'kin desperate is that to attempt a rehabilitation.

Utterly shameful.

Liverpool FC like Newcastle are at the heart of a sports washing operation. Just acknowledge it and stop trying to deflect. The whole world sees what's happening.

SABIC who could still close the Plant they have on the Wilton site.

Clutching at straws to defend Henderson.

The hypocrisy on that site is astonishing. States abusing human rights is not okay (as long it's the Arabs doing it) while they happily ignore companies doing the same "because it's not the same" 🙃 They say that they're fighting for gays- and human rights (well since 2018/2019 - something must have happened there 😄), when they happily turn blind eye to the US, some European countries stripping gays for their rights. 99% of the time, they're using it as bashing stick against Gulf-Arabs. Our wonderful red brethrens never mention what's happening in the US etc. It's always those d*mn Arabs. Imo, deep down they don't give a sh*te about people's rights.

It's all completely irrelevant anyway. I know nothing about SABIC but from the article extract:

  • A company has built some factories/industry in NE already
  • Football player throws away previous pretence of moral leadership to take the big payday in same country as that company
  • That company may or may not buy the football club
  • Even if they do (or don't) the fact of Henderson moving to that country is utterly irrelevant to the past decisions of that company (and indeed any future ones in reality)
They are really searching if this is the best excuse they can come up with.
In the words of Simon Hughes. Henderson will act "as a saner, calming presence."

I think what he's suggesting is that the liberal west are using people like Hendo as an advanced guard of a civilizing process to be settled on the Arab world.

How 'kin corrupt do you have to be as a journalist to come up with utter filth like that?

You know those Kopite balloons with their full kits and festooned with badges that people on here laugh at as barking mad...it's actually the rancid cadre of lickspittle reporters that prop up that organisation who are the real ones to watch.

Yes,all registered with a Merseyside postcode.
It is difficult to estimate the exact number of Liverpool fans that are from the city. However, in December 2020, it was revealed that 5,832 of Liverpool’s 27,000 season ticket holders had Liverpool postcodes. This compares to 25,647 of Everton’s 30,500 season ticket holders who had Liverpool postcodes.

With all respect lads, we used to slag Chelski and then we got oligarc cash and silence. If we got arab money and competed again it would be the same. The Saudi's know that as long as the price is right, the UK and States will eat out of their hands
I've never slagged Chelsea for spending money, or for where it came from. It would be a bit hypocritical wouldn't it really? Everton were one of the biggest spenders around for many many years - Mersey Millionaires?

Nah I think you might be getting mixed up.
