ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

City are winning the league, no ifs or buts about it, they are just pacing themselves, they will be delighted they are only 5 points behind with a game in hand at this stage. They won’t drop points from March to May just watch.

No one is winning the league but City, just a matter of time.

They're course and distance specialists.

You take that over a team that has flash in the pan performances like Liverpool.

The far safer bet is City. I don't know what the bookies have it as but I'd have city at 1/3 and Liverpool at about 5/2.

what the actual F is this?

Even Otto von Pissmark calls the atmosphere at the pit crap!

If it's the same thing I've read then they rank all the teams on atmosphere, experience, location and something else (possibly design), then an overall score

Everton were 14th overall but for atmosphere joint top. So even that graphic is misleading

I’d personally disagree with that mate the PL isn’t that competitive at all, if you look at other leagues there is the same odd shock. Or one Bolter of a team who has an unexpected good season, before the CL clubs come in and sign their players and they go back into the pack.

The PL is loosing its lustre in terms of competitive sport bar following your own team. You can pick the clubs who will be in the CL already. We know City are winning the title.

Beyond Everton - who really cares anymore.

Completely agree with you. I meant on a one off weekly basis, we see it all the time Bournemouth go to a United and win, City struggle at Luton, Arsenal lose to Brentford etc etc.

Every team, even the very best team possibly ever, knows that if it does not play well on the weekend, it is extremely likely it will drop points.

Then you have one team that knows it can put out whatever dross it wants on the weekend, doesn’t matter who is in the line up or how they play, as long as they are not utterly abysmal they’ll still most probably pick up 3 points.

They are refereed to a completely different standard and they know it. This is a team that didn’t finish in the top 4 last season (despite the officials best attempts) yet their home record is now bordering on the best of all time in PL history in front of their own fans. There’s children who will have grown up never ever seeing a Liverpool team lose at home at Anfield. Even by the laws of probability this should be happening a few times, it does to all the other top teams in Europe, just not this one. Quite simply the PL will not allow their number one customer base to become disillusioned and turn off the revenue taps.

City 3/4
Mordor 9/4
Arsenal 15/2

City are definitely winning the league, the first 24 games in the league are just an annoyance to them that has to be managed.

I think I watch more live Championship games then I do PL games mate. I’ve just no interest beyond Everton and I love football. I’ll see every team twice a year when they play Everton.

Might watch the highlights, but a full game you’re only wasting your time.

Championship football is far more competitive and has more sporting integrity. As last night proved you may as well be watching WWE as some PL games it’s become - “sports entertainment” and real football fans are turned and turning off I feel. Hard not to lump our points deduction etc in to that contrived “drama”.

Really liking that every kopite I’ve seen or spoken to are now defending the laughable on field decisions by the ref that they booed off at half and full time, and the decisions by the VAR team last night, when all season long they have been sticking the knives into refs/VAR all - knowledgable fan base my asre. You can’t have it both ways you morons.

Liverpool battered the zebra kopites last night, I’ve not seen anyone say otherwise, but the two penalites given and the geordie penalty not given were scandalous calls exacerbated by VAR.

If they are called correctly ( by the ref or more importantly by VAR, as that’s what the fecking thing was designed for) would the result have been any different - probably not, but you just never know.

The corruption and bias sorted that uncertainty out.

Also, carragher should be sacked for his ludicrous performance justifying the first penalty - he made a complete tit of himself and his bias shone brightly. Didn’t see him talking about the second Liverpool pen, did he even bother? Would have loved to have seen his explanation for that one, other than the Anfield sniper at it again.
