Too late, they already blew that opportunity.

As soon as footy was suspended they should have come out and said that they don't care about the league title, all that mattered was protecting people and minimising the risk the lives of human beings and rs supporters. It was the right move from a moral and PR point of view, most of the world would have thought it was a noble sentiment that would have been remembered even if the league was voided.

Instead the club and fanbase have laid themselves bare as self entitled and arrogant as they use every medium and anyone with the most tenuous connection to them to spin their tale of how the league needs to go on, they need to be champions, the unfairness of how this is happening to them and how they are the priority. Entirely lacking in compassion and empathy and whatever they do now it will never make up for their actions and words while people fight for their lives.

I've always hated them as a rival football club but I honestly think they are beyond contempt now.

I want all you rs lurkers to remember this in a couple of years when klopp or carragher is preaching about the value of life at the Hillsborough remembrance. It doesn't matter now what they say, you've now seen the actual priority and value they put in human lives. Not as much as getting red ribbons on a shiny cup.

Don't think Im defending anything. I just remember seeing him come out with a pretty compassionate video as soon as it was all [Poor language removed] off. There isn't a single club who has come out of this with any sort of grace or dignity. Every single club is petrified of the bottom line and will do what they can to use it to their advantage. West Ham want it voided, of course they do. Teams in the top 4 want it given to them without the rest of the games being played, course they do. We want it voided and consigned to history so they don't win the title, course we do. Its not one club being dickheads its the whole greedy corrupt wagon running people over to get what they want.

If this is City, Chelsea, Man U or Arsenal, the league would be dead and buried by now. Fair do's their fans would be disappointed, but they'd accept it and move on.

Not this lot, no. Their followers in the media and in the FA are holding out as long as possible, looking for a way to crown them.
They will cry about this for a generation. They will all start claiming it as a title win non-the-less. Every all-time trophy league table that exists will have a Liverpool amended one that they will wave around. They will never accept this and will push the narrative that the real victims of COVID19 are them. Liverpool Football Club.

None of which Liverpool have done.

As for us supporters, we’ve seen our rivals benefit hugely from a season of cheating that made a mockery of the whole thing. We’ve also seen fans of said cheats making banners, calling themselves the unbearables and telling everyone who listened how “unbearable” they’ll be when they win it. It’s really hard to feel any sympathy as they still go on about how all that matters is finishing this season whilst ignore the fact that thousands are dying around them.

As I’ve said for some time, this season’s done, the football is completely irrelevant and when the plug does get pulled we’ll be getting 800+ people a day dying, it will barely make a paragraph on the back page. It doesn't matter.
