think everyone knows that the setup of the euro league is not having the desired effect and i think it would be better even if it was made into a knockout comp instead...it seems to only benefit teams in outer mongolia or somewhere and when the c/l dropouts enter it is then even more farcical...most of the winners are from that group usually so whats the point in it really...i mean who wanted to watch wigan in it and next season we may even have hull in it as well..maybe davek was right in saying liverpool avoided it like the plague last season..but nobody admits to that of course..

The fact is we will have a very good chance of winning it. It would be far easier for us to do that than qualify for the CL through league position. You just have to look at the clubs who have done well in previously, Rangers, Boro and Fulham. Even if we get to the quarters and finish 7th in the league, our European coefficient will have improved and we will have another crack at finishing 4th without any distractions the following season.

Europa will be good for us in the long run.

hope if you get in it that you can win it.but if davek is suggesting an extra 14 games as being some sort of a hindrence to even the top teams can you imagine how possibly playing 21 extra games would somehow decimate even the biggest of squads...apart from a few nice trips abroad for the fans i cant see how it will be good for you in the long run..without winning it of course..

A lot of us are resigned to not having a chairman that will spend on us. He won't sell up, his business team is awful, and he's not investing anything. What are you gonna do?

Our best season (before this one) in the premier league era was 07-08 IMO, semi final of the league cup, a decent run in the UEFA cup and a 5th place finish. Its not a given the competition ruins your season.

Unless we play some kind of european football we'll always be faced with very difficult CL qualifier.

Martinez isnt afraid to play the kids, they'll get a good run out in the Europa.

Anyway. I believe we can win it.
