I admire anyone who's capable of ripping the piss out of the kult - he knows all the dog whistles that make them sit up and beg.

The feller's a self serving PR genius.

Unfortunately even that lot will work him out in the end and the bullets will be in the post. Hang on in there Brendan. It's funny as [Poor language removed].

I think any manager who loses 2-0 and then comes out with this sort of guff is a TOTAL beaut:

“It is great for the public here at Sunderland to see us,” said manager Brendan Rodgers. “They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about and now they have seen. We were wonderful."

Him and Libberpul Futball Cult are a match made in heaven though, they can blow smoke up each others' arses till the cows come home (to roost)!

I keep saying it but take Suarez out of that team and they finish 8th at best. Unless he's replaced with Aguero or Ronaldo but that's unlikely.

Suarez is a horrible entity but for me he's now in the top 5 in the world and Brent is riding on his coat tails. He absolutely needs him to stay, will probably beg the board to give him £300k / week when he inevitably starts making noises about moving to Spain.

Speaking of Suarez, he's surely got to leave soon if wants to win something, strikers have a shorter shelf life than other footballers (even these days, strikers' performance levels drop off noticeably when they reach 32 or so*, maybe it's something to do with reflexes waning which can't be rectified with superior nutrition and training) so if he wants something to remember other than the funniest title capitulation in living memory then he has to go soon.

Or stay and bleed them dry then leave for nothing. Either way, not that bothered.

*test it if you don't believe me.

He couldn't even win a league that was fixed in his favour
Aaah but notice that the helpful spot kicks dried up after Mourinho made his speech congratulating the ref and head ref for fulfilling the 'prime objective' after the Sunderland game. After that the RS were on their own, and we know what happened next.......

He's been lucky so far as Suarez and Sturridge have had tremendous season.
Even luckier when you consider that Mignolet hit the ground running and I reckon was their MVP for the first 6 or 7 games whilst Suarez was banned, tells its own tale really when your goalie has to win you the points

Walked past that shop in town today by Clayton Square, all i could think about is how horrible the city would be if they won it, stalls everywhere selling utter junk, idiots in shirts with moronic slogans on, flags, the lot. If we won it things would be dignified, if they win it the place would turn into a theme park. Thank you god for saving us from that hell.

I am not one for speaking ill of the dead but I shall make an exception for Emlyn Hughes.

Watching him on the Question of Sport tonight, an old episode as part of the David Cole an night on BBC, has reminded me how hateful a bugger he was.

Not only God, we have Denba Ba to thank as well :)

A chancer. Pure and simple. Did nothing at Watford, near relegated Reading and then got the sack, oversaw the final push at Swansea that was put in place by Martinez, had a rubbish first season at Liverpool and served up the most mind numbing football in the PL to boot, then allowed his captain to dictate to him a method of hitting it long to on fire attackers he'd had success with under Benitez.

A con man.

Not sure that he is "a chancer". Yes, he may not be the tactical mastermind that he thinks he is, and yes Mou did successfully mindf**k him, but however he did it he worked out the best way to get that shower playing consistently well, to the point that only two of footballs greatest hilarious moments stopped them winning the league. Whether he manages to up his game this coming season remains to be seen.

I also like how he either worked out or was given the cheat codes to the whoppers, enabling him to come up with everything that he has (in terms of utterances, interviews, soundbites etc) since he has been there - which has of course enthused them and amused everyone else.
