Not sure that he is "a chancer". Yes, he may not be the tactical mastermind that he thinks he is, and yes Mou did successfully mindf**k him, but however he did it he worked out the best way to get that shower playing consistently well, to the point that only two of footballs greatest hilarious moments stopped them winning the league. Whether he manages to up his game this coming season remains to be seen.

I also like how he either worked out or was given the cheat codes to the whoppers, enabling him to come up with everything that he has (in terms of utterances, interviews, soundbites etc) since he has been there - which has of course enthused them and amused everyone else.
He stumbled across the pretty mundane realisation that fortune favours the brave in this league. He's played to strengths, Rodgers, and when you have two attackers simultaneously at their top of their game it becomes a lot easier to go for. But that realisation is the minimum I'd expect off a manager at a team in the top 5/6. He's a chancer in the sense he seized on an opportunity to use that impressive post-Christmas run to present his personal impact in terms of in-game strategy as being crucial. It wasn't...and the run-in proved beyond doubt what a rabbit caught in the headlights duffer he really is. Take a listen to him tomorrow describing how he did this that and the other to change things around in terms of shape to win valuable extra points. It's a fallacy. He stumbled from one match to the next, but with two of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe in your team it mattered not one jot if goals were conceded....well, almost. *guffaw*

Uruguay's World Cup preparations have been thrown into turmoil with the news that the Premier League's player of the season, Luis Suarez, has picked up a knee injury.

Suarez felt discomfort after twisting his knee in training, and tests later revealed meniscus damage.

The Liverpool forward will undergo surgery as soon as possible and, according to the Uruguay camp, he should be ready for the World Cup. However, that is in some doubt. Recovery from this type of injury normally takes between 4-6 weeks, and Suarez would be pushing those limits.

That's even better than the dream I had last night where Rodgers got sacked (don't know why, unfortunately the dream didn't last long enough)..

Would be better if he did it the day before the season starts. If he misses the World cup, he should be fit and fresher when next season starts

Maybe, but it's a real downer to miss the World Cup, especially at this late juncture, and anything that puts him in a bad way suits me.

Bryan probably knew in his heart of hearts he was going to miss the WC but he set himself a target where he fell short. Sewerrat wasn't expecting this! :)

The report says 4 to 6 weeks. He is so important for Uruguay and considering he would run through a brick wall for them, he will force himself to play. That could be to the detriment of his knee and the injure may get worse. The one thing for sure, LFC won't come into his consideration on whether he plays or not.
