ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

It might make them stronger by not needing to rely so much on one player

Like I said, I'm reserving judgment until I see where they are after the window

They might have an overall stronger squad by the end of it if they sell him

That's like saying Barca might benefit from not relying on Messi, or Madrid on Ronaldo. It's a nonsensical argument Mikey lad.

Stronger squad maybe - weaker team definitely

We actually ended up being a much better team once Rooney left so you can't call that train of thought complete nonsense.

If Suarez goes and they replace him with 3 incredibly good players who combined score more and assist more than Suarez did, then they're stronger for it.

Rooney scored 9 goals in 40 appearances in the season before we sold him, as he was still a kid with massive potential, not the finished article, so that's not a valid comparison.

Whichever way you cut it, they're selling a genuine World Class player and they'll replace with players of lesser quality.

Of course it's a valid comparison, we're talking about selling your best player and whether you can improve or not. Which I'm saying you can.

If anything, it'll be easier for them to improve than it was for us, they're a champions league regular who have just come second whilst we were 16th - hardly attracting the same calibres of player to replace our star men respectively.

Is it nads.

They're losing a player who contributed 31 league goals and 13 assists. We lost a young lad who scored 1 in 4 for us. We were also skint and the money allowed us to rebuild the squad.

They already had a player budget this summer. They're now going to have to try and replace the irreplaceable. It's not rocket science

Are you seriously suggesting that if they buy 2/3 of Sanchez/Cavani/Lavezzi standard of player to replace him they wont improve? Because they will.

There is almost no precedence for a team becoming stronger after a big money move where their best player departs (literally the only one I can think of is athletico after loosing Falcao), no matter how big a club they are, including United (Ronaldo), Chelsea (Drogba), Arsenal (Take your pick), Liverpool (Torres)

Newcastle sold Carrol and became a better team, Utd sold Beckham and became a better team, RS sold Rush and became a better team....

There's plenty that have sold their best players and improved, just like we did. As ever it's about how wisely the money is spent, like a couple of others I won't be laughing to hard until the window is closed. The only caveat being there trying to introduce to many new players into a settled squad all at once, thats generally the main ingredient for poor disjointed displays.

United sold Hughes and Ince in 95 and did just fine to be fair to them

Spurs sold Bale and spent the cash, look where it got them.

You also have to factor in who is the man buying the players, Brenda has a pretty ordinary record in the transfer market.

A Suarez-less Liverpool is like a comb with three teeth on it.

Those saying 'they might be a better team without him' - that's great. But you win games with goals, and that feller will waltz out the door taking with him the third of all goals you'd expect them to score next season.

It is an unmitigated disaster for Liverpool.

Who says they're going to get any of them, let alone 2 out of 3?

They aren't currently attractive enough to get world class talent to replace Suarez , one season finishing second out of 5 seasons coming 6,7 and 8th could be seen by many as a fluke.

Sanchez has said he prefers Arsenal to Liverpool which is completely understandable.
