ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Usually agree entirely on all matters Kopite but I think that's not true of Suarez. The pressure was definitely on versus England as the losers was out. He was the top goal scorer in South American qualifying and dragged them over the line as the best player in the playoff. He's an utter, utter filth of a human being and our league is better for him out of it but in terms of technical ability he is the complete player- which is why I don't care how they spend their £65m because they have no hope in hell of replacing him if they think £24m on Lallana and £10m on Can (and a prospective £20m+ on loveren, dear god) is the way to go about it.

If you look at his WC record: scored in 2010 in last group game when they were guaranteed through with a draw, scored in the Rd of 16; got sent off in the QF; in this WC he scored against England, yeah, but it was the last group game that was crucial and he got no joy and was sent off again. The WC doesn't do him any favours persuading anyone he can handle the big occasion. The Copa America in 2011 did prove he can score in the big games though - in the SF and final. So a mixed bag internationally.

In the PL I think we all know the stats dont bear out he can turn it on at will against our league's best.

As I say, I think he's worth his weight in gold to a team football wise because of how he has the appetite to pick off standard opposition in a league programme.

a penalty.

this isn't backing anyone's argument but mine really. what's the most important goal he's ever scored?

what's the most important goal he ever scored for liverpool? it's got to be that equalizer where distin put it on a plate for him, hardly something that screams £75m worth.

Scored a goal in the Copa America final.

Kopite mate just told me that someone who does some media work for them has said they are trying hard to get Reus. Think he said hes on City talk, wasn't really paying much attention.

Well there was talk today of Liverpool preparing a 26 mill bid for Rom, now that would really suck.

I can just see those twerps on RAWK saying how brilliant Rom is yet last season they did not have a kind word to say at all.
