ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Talk about moving the goal posts. You were going on about him not scoring big goals. Fairly sure scoring in the World Cup is a big goal at a big moment, as is scoring a load of goals against your derby rivals, and scoring against your other biggest rivals in United.
That's not the issue. You have to look at the context of the 'big games' you mention he did well in: What was their importance? Were the games crucial (finals, SFs, goals in run in games against nearest title rivals)? As for Derbies: they mean nothing more than another PL match to him, they weren't a massive game because he doesn't behave tribally or with loyalty to his own club...as he's just proven by engineering a move away from one.

Scoring with the pressure off in WC group games or scoring in PL matches against elite clubs early/mid season aren't pressure cooker games and therefore cant really be said to be rising to the big occasion.

The 'draw' of Suarez for his employers will be that he gets his head down and grafts and tears the place up against the so called lesser clubs. That's much more important than peaking for big games like a Balotelli does.

To be honest, I think with Neymar, Surez and Messi they now have far and away the best front line in world football.
Backed up by Xavi and Iniesta the ultimate playmakers, they are one scary prospect.

I hope they play Liverpool and win 6 or 7-0 and BT make it their feature ad next season.
Is Falcao off to Madrid ? If so then their front 3 could be him, Bale and Ronaldo..... That's as scary a prospect as Barcas

Usually agree entirely on all matters Kopite but I think that's not true of Suarez. The pressure was definitely on versus England as the losers was out. He was the top goal scorer in South American qualifying and dragged them over the line as the best player in the playoff. He's an utter, utter filth of a human being and our league is better for him out of it but in terms of technical ability he is the complete player- which is why I don't care how they spend their £65m because they have no hope in hell of replacing him if they think £24m on Lallana and £10m on Can (and a prospective £20m+ on loveren, dear god) is the way to go about it.

He didn't play either game against Colombia and scored against Argentina. He got 4 goals against Chile.

a penalty.

this isn't backing anyone's argument but mine really. what's the most important goal he's ever scored?

what's the most important goal he ever scored for liverpool? it's got to be that equalizer where distin put it on a plate for him, hardly something that screams £75m worth.

I just think like ibra and villa he wont get his chance to shine barca are far too one dimensional via messi these days.
if the could get neymar saurez messi working together and being unpredictable then wow

Neymar is hardly pulling up trees over there too, they are too structured to work through Messi. I give it 2 years max - he'll be playing in France.
