ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I see the half arsed kopites are out with their thank you for everything luis suarez pictures on social media.

I had to ask one of them, thank you for what? The biting? Racism? The bans? The transfer requests? the fact he won you nothing and the club still bent over for him to beg for one more year?

The reponses were from the kopite in question saying 'the good memories'.

then another one turned up and said 'he has a point'

Is there such a thing as a kopite with common sense?

i need to ask this question, can one of the kopite lurkers on here answer this (i've sort of blocked most of them so they probably can't), so it may be down to fellow blues to try and answer their opinion.

fernando torres. yeah, so umm, why do they hate torres so much, yet adore suarez, torres was a better player for them, a proper match winner who actually won things for them. he left to go to a better team to win trophies and they burned his shirt and boo him at every opportunity. he never disgraced the club or anything.

suarez, drags the club through the mud, wins nothing, hasn't scored any big game match winners, made an absolute mockery of their club and has cried for a move, requested transfers and done unspeakable acts to try and force through a transfer to a better team to win toprhies.

i just don't get it. is it because when suarez came they were sh*te so he was their only shining light, whereas torres joined them at a decent time? i understand that they're bitter and jealous of chelsea, is this the reason? none of them are socuse, surely they understand there's no such loyalty for them to the club? torres hasn't said a bad word about them despite getting dogs abuse, suarez will say something bad within his first conference at barca.

Agree completely with this.

I don't understand them, nor care. Torres hurt them badly, as he was a LFC fan he was promised a lot from what i can remember. Suarez like a ferel dog was tamed by them in some strange fashion, i think its like Stockholm Syndrome.

It certainly reinforces to me how pathetic footy is, and any romance in it is either conveniently forgotten about when it suits any fan, not just them, or doesn't exist at all.

Great thread in the making over on RAWK - 'We Go Again, Again'.

Pick of the bunch so far...

"Do teams fear Steven Gerrard? Yes, they fear that he'll single handedly knock england out of the WC - oh, he did
Do teams fear Raheem Sterling? They fear he'll batter their missus or get them pregnant
Do teams fear wee Coutinho? Ha, nope. he'll be on the bench behind lallana
Do teams hear the sound of cossack hooves at the impending approach of Le Czar, and quail? i have no idea what this means
We go again. Fear ye any who stand in our way. The Reds are coming up that hill with fire in our eyes.
Behold, plastic villains (ironic), mancs and bitters (ironic), petrol gangsters and prawn-eating dandies, and despair.
We go again. Stand in our way and you will be trampled.
We go again."

...closely followed by...
"When Luis first came here he would repeatedly try to beat as many players possible and when he finally got anywhere near goal, he would be faced with another 5 defenders between him and the goal leading him to go for something ridiculously extravagant and in the end it would peter out to nothing. Guess who changed that ? Brendan Rodgers did. He took that player and turned him into one of the most feared players in Europe. I don't need to go into the exact details of it all surely. I would like to see evidence of one time where a team was so scraed of suarez that 5 people were marking him, people didn't even do that for maradona.

Daniel Sturridge was an inconsistent bench warmer at Chelsea that did a [Poor language removed] dance when he scored. What happened to him ? Well he was bought by Brendan Rodgers and put on the pitch and told to get some goals and how did he respond ? Well he got a bucket load of goals. How could he do that ? Well it seems Brendan knows a thing or two about coaching and made sure that Sturridge played in those channels where he could do the most damage. He turned into a serial diver that was shown in front of the whole world in the group stages, let's see how well he does without suarez before going overboard.

Phillipe Coutinho. Staggeringly talented but near written off at the age of 19. Hanging around Inter not knowing where to go. Brendan buys him and immediately his assist and passing outputs are up there with the best players in the league. He is 22 now. Miles to go for a player of his ilk.
You mean the guy who couldn't get in a brazil squad that contained Jo, Fred and Hulk as attacking options?

The similarities are simply this, three superbly talented players that were not performing anywhere near the levels their talents would allow them to were taken to those levels by Brendan Rodgers. And we've still got him. Back the man and get the best and most talented players around and he'll be improving those players as well. They'll be asking for a move to a better club, like all your latest talents have if that's the case.

We go again."We laugh again

Suarez is miles better than Torres ever was, imo.

Battered wife syndrome.

i remember everton fans burning fellaini's shirt for leaving for a better team - not all footy fans are pathetic - those seem to take the biscuit. i expect players like rooney (a boyhood fan) to stay because they should be living the dream, but i understand if they go to a better team, i don't expect anything from foreign players with no affiliation to everton. it's a job at the end of the day, of course i want them to be loyal, but i'd never expect it.

maybe. has there been a trophy torres has played in and never won though?

he was a big game player who won them derbies single handedly etc. suarez has played his part in a few good draws.

Liverpool were a better side then. Gerrard was excellent at number ten with Torres ahead of him. Suarez has scored in 5(?) derbies already and has never lost one, scoring at Wembley. I don't think he's failed to score at Goodison yet(?).

Suarez carried a bang average Liverpool side to second place almost single-handedly. When Liverpool finished second in 09, they were a much better side all round, for me.

Torres was superb at his best, but Suarez is completely ridiculous.
