ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I can't see them getting top 4. Not with them losing their world class player and having to deal with Europe. A lot will depend on whether Sturridge and Sterling can have anywhere near the same impact next season. Remember they had a long run without injury or suspension last season but as soon as they lost Sturridge and Henderson they stopped winning. Sturridge doesn't look the type who'll last a full season and take him out, who's going to score the goals? As pointed out earlier in the thread, Brenda won't have the balls to drop Slippy G and other teams will walk through that midfield and defence again, with or without Lovren.

Still think they will get top 4

Not a chance.

Still got an average squad, with more tougher games, and minus 30 goals.

Chelsea have it in the bag. City are City. Arsenal just got a world class striker. United have a world class manager now.

There's your top 4.

I'm sure Liverpool will be good enough to finish top six and balloon Everton at least once, but I don't fancy them for another Champions League finish.

I can't wait to see how they react if Gerrard's form keeps dipping (which I think it will).

Englands campaign proved how Liverpools best players can't cope when playing top professionals.

Henderson just a work horse, nothing spectacular but every team needs one; sterling is raw pace, once a defender gets to know his movements they can easily swallow him up. Sturridge, a good finisher but only on his left peg, the majority of Europe's elite wil know to show him on his right foot now.

and mr me; well his legs are gone, I'd be surprised if most teams don't have someone sitting on him next season.

the new boys; haven't seen much of the foreign lads so not commenting; lallana is a neat little player, if we spent £23m on him I'd be fuming.

When torres left .the other lot spent the 50 mill on other players.wrong ones for sure but the situation were everyone is made up with the sale fee and the added socalled bonus that he asked for the transfer...re fellaini.made up that it helped the bank balance for us..but why no inquest on where the money went...
27mill in....lukaku...loan..

Apparantly they had a 60mill spend authorised and thats without the 75mill suares money. For the coming season.
We apparantly were only 10mill or so behind them in the tv and prem money.
They have allocated 75mill for the new ground extention .
Its ok to say that every player they buy is going to be rubbish for them .But what about the law of averages even.
But some suggestions that some are saying they would be happy with a 20mill gross spend this season seem a bit wide of the mark considering we finished 5th and battered the team who finished 4th at a late stage in the last season.

Hope martinez isnt going to be too modest in his demands to the board if he is serious about his promise when joining re c/l qualification..

Fellaini thought he was leaving for greener pastures..they had just won the league..moyes wanted him.big payrise .happy days..
Most of these foreign players have no loyalty nowadays anyway and the fact that joe royle is being brought in to look after our young local lads and others can only be a good thing for us..
