why is everyone wetting themselves over sterling all of a sudden ? granted he's a good prospect but i've not really seen anything to suggest he's going to be anywhere close to world class... which is what people keep saying he will be.
*gritting teeth*

I disagree mate. I can see him having an incredible year here. You can see it, clear as day. Not sure what you're watching but if he continues this level of progress; world class beckons.... FFS !!

Very comfortable on the ball, quick feet, can NOW see a pass and is adding goals to his game.

he'll be better than rooney ? I'm sorry but at sterlings age rooney had already done infinitely more and was on a different level altogether.

i can't think of one 'sh1t the bed' moment from sterling, i can think of countless from rooney at his age.

can't see him ever coming close to what rooneys done in his career

Rooney might have achieved more in his career but I reckon Sterling will turn out a far better player. Make no bones about it, the kid is going to be immense and end up at Chelsea/Barca/Real Madrid IMO.

Let's not behave like that lot over at RAWK and write all of their players off just because of our dislike for all things Liverpool. Sterling is going to be the real deal.

im not writing him off, I'm saying he's a good prospect, one of the best in the country but no way whatsoever is the lad every going to be barca/real standard... i'll bet my house on it.

Look the lads a decent player let's see where he's at in say, 5 years time eh? loads of baggage, injuries, loss of form , if anyone thinks he's gunner be the 'best player on the planet' quoted by the DM today then your frankly deluded.
Come on.... Don't mention about deluded in the same paragraph as what you've wrote here.

Look at his progress in just 2 years. You're coming out with basically assumptions (baggage, injuries, form etc) in the hope that our rivals haven't unearthed a diamond. They have a very very decent player here, just accept it.

Something tells me that this one isn't another Anthony Le Tallec. Not this time.

That's fair enough and it's your opinion. But some of the posts in here regarding Sterling are, erm, far off the mark to say the least!

Sterling = flavour of the month. Add to list of great next jet heeled superstars: Huckerby, Bellamy, Duff, Lennon, Townsend.

this time next year i will be chuckling at this thread and the red cafe one

"BEST TEENAGER IN WORLD FOOTBALL"

oh how the english do like to exaggerate our own players

But then Rooney was a far better player at the age which Sterling is at now. I think so.

Rooney at Everton at THAT age was as good as you'll likely to see. You sat up and took notice, you couldn't help it. The way he played the game, everything. Incredible.

Man Utd melted him down and molded him into something else. Rooney has had a good career but had he not been melted down, he would of had a great career.
