The banner was in no way related to the events of heysel, it was designed to highlight the "ifithadnabeenfer" attitude taken by the vast majority of bitter mongrels Evertonians. If you showed the banner to a Juve fan they would probably thank us (if they even understood what it meant). Everton are a constant reminder of Heysel and frankly need to stop.

LOL
Oh it's our fault now? I though Chelsea were to blame for every Kopite woe!

Why hasn't rodgers spouted off about Emre Can getting injured whilst on international duty?
Probably because Can rolled his ankle during the Germany U21s match - just a bit of bad luck and there is nothing the Germany team could have done to prevent it. Similar to when Gibson did his ACL playing for Ireland last year.

However Sturridge, who has a history of injuries whilst on England duty, did his hamstring in training. Rodgers believes that not having an extra day of rest was part of the reason it happened. I don't know if that is true as I'm not a sports scientist but it seems logical that different players need different fitness programs to help them get fit and avoid problems, especially if they have a tendency to get a particular injury.

If a similar situation had happened with Barkley, I would imagine that Martinez would be equally annoyed although I doubt he would express it in quite the same way as Rodgers.

Well why didn't he rest him against Spurs?
