Yeah I forgot about that horror Mascherano. Looking through stuff and it looks as though they've perfected the pre-determined intimidation of refs to an art form. Its about time it was commented on during the football shows/live games that aren't infested by RS or ex-RS personnel . Sorry I forgot....there aren't any.

Makes my teeth itch players surrounding the ref and they are the worst for it. I'd really like to see it clamped down on. I know we all bait the ref, its part of the game, but the pressure they are under at that level, having whining tossers like Meelar in your in ear from the moment the balls kicked doesn't help matters.

Thanks lads.

That needs to change and soon - although you don't need me to tell you that. It's like you've got an inferiority complex when you play them. I hope Martinez will change that because if Villa can win at Anfield most years, you definitely can.
Combination of us being big game bottlers - a lot of that comes from Moyes, them being game raising counts, and enough dodgy reffing to cover the rest.

Moyes never seemed to grasp how important it was for us to win against them; Martinez it seems has a better finger on the pulse of the supporters. Let's hope he's the man to change it. Say what you want about that lot, they always turn up for the big matches.

Ref should have yellowed the lot of them. If it is done often enough the players will soon realise where they get off.

Rugby refs don't have problems like this largely because their federation backs them 100%.

Never understood t myself mate. Yellow the lot and they will soon learn.

In that pic, are they all wearing black armbands because they play for Liverpool?

talk like that to a rugby ref and you are off...and you will be off for weeks after the judiciary's finished with you.

Rugby refs also have the power of the sin bin. THAT would be an excellent introduction. Personally I would bin Slippy as soon as he crossed the white line for being a smug *******

The difference in the rugby ananolgy is that when kids are starting out playing they are not allowed talk to the ref in a derogatory way, also the same goes for the parents on the sideline so there is no culture of it at all. If you go down to the local park of a Saturday you regularly see 8 & 9 year olds abusing refs.

The most common sense and easily incorporated rule would be that all communication is done between ref and captain. If another player tires to talk to the ref he is told to go away, he gets binned for ten mins if he continues.

Bring that rule in and problem solved overnight of teams trying to aggressively influence the ref.
