My only concern is that I see a lot of parallels between what he does tactically and Martinez - our guy is the better man manager by a mile, but I hope he's also the better tactician in the long run and can adjust to adversity.

The biggest difference - and the most important one IMO - is that Martinez seems to be able to recognise his mistakes and learn from them. We were bleeding goals at the start of the season, so he tightened things up tactically, for example. Rodgers doesn't seem to even understand what/who his problems are let alone be able to begin going about fixing them.
