think sturridge is a quality player... made the wrong move to chelsea, the club who turned their nose up at rom too. If he'd had moved to a club he'd got games he would have more goals no doubt

lukaku is a freak in how hes been banging them in since such a young age, but sturridge is still good imo. A rarity in english strikers in that as well as being able to finish, he's fast and skillful too

...absolute whopper though

He sounds so simple - heard him on the radio earlier and he's up there with young Rio and Rooney in that regard. And that subway ad in the summer too. Hilarious.

Unfortunately a very good player though

When both players have hanged up their boots who will have scored more goals?

Answer: Lukaku

Definitely.

My post referred to the quality of the two players right now though. Right now Lukaku is a devastating one-on-one finisher and a menace when he's given space to run at a defence, but often the ball bounces off him and he struggles to do some of the basics of the game. He's still very raw. Sturridge is the polished end product who scored and assisted for fun last season, scoring a wide range of goals and has predictably picked up where he left off this season, slotting competently since he came back, without Suarez.

Re: Sturridge, think Lineker or some other notable media member was calling it a great volley. I believe it was straight at Speroni. He's decent and right now he's England's best striker depending on your view of Harry Kane. Next five years I still want Lukaku.

Liverpool only have to beat 1 more decent team to win the FA Cup. Let that sink in, for anyone who's ruling it out
And by hook or by crook they will do it,usually by extra time/pens a dodgy decision or two along the way,you know how it pans out for them, the FA have already decided Slippy G will be holding that trophy aloft after his last game on his birthday,IT HAS BEEN DECREEDlol

This is why it wont happen.

The feller's a loser. He always has been a loser, he always will be a loser.

He has the unmistakeable stink of failure on him. And the Kopites know it.

Hope you are right Dave,I really do.
Liverpool against United or Arsenal at Wembley. Only one winner there. On big occasions it's important to have a manager who's been there and done it before. Van Gaal and Wenger have the pedigree in spades..

The biggest games Rodgers faced as Liverpool manager he couldn't handle them. As I said before: I wouldn't rule out at all Liverpool being knocked out by Blackburn or if they were drawn against either WBA or Villa in the SF if they got that far.

They have to win three important games to win this trophy. I for one dont think Rodgers has that in him. The feller's a phony and will always be found out when the crunch comes.

The Echo going on about Sanchez's decision to choose Arsenal over Liverpool.

It’s certainly interesting that Wenger cites the language factor with Arsenal’s Spanish contingent including captain Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin joined by Spanish-speaking goalkeepers David Ospina of Colombia and Argentinian Emiliano Martinez. However, even though Rafael Benitez and his staff have now departed it’s not as though there’s a dearth of Latin culture around Melwood. Maybe if Alberto Moreno and Javier Manquillo – who both signed a month after Sanchez went to Arsenal in July – had arrived a bit sooner then perhaps he could have been swayed? The Chilean could have been joined by fellow South Americans Philippe Coutinho and Lucas, Spanish left-back Jose Enrique and Italians Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli.

The desperation from them to square the circle on this.

It's quite simple: he thought Rodgers was a nobhead and a Liverpool team stripped of its one world class player in decades were too pony for his talents to be showcased.

Just swallow it and STFU.

AS: Really? Moreno and Manquillo?.....who the fecks Moreno and Manquillo?

BR: Some Spanish lids I think? but I'll have to ask the committee before I can confirm that.

AS: I'll now give this serious consideration....

Sanchez's agent: Brendan Rodgers is on the phone.
AS: Que?
Sanchez's agent: He's Liverpool's manager.
AS: Nah.
