I agree.
But when you see how easy it is to shut them down (Bolton and Blackburn did it with ease FFS!) you can see just how ropey the whole system is. It relies on teams being naive enough to leave players like Coutinho space...they'd never do it with Silva, for example. He's been the difference for them this season. Liverpool will still get leathered by teams sitting deep and pushing them hard down the flanks where they're exposed.
I see no innovation by Rodgers, tbh. It's just season two stuff reheated.
They're not great, just ascending what is a league of pretty poor teams so far. The annoying thing is, top 4 is there for any half-competent outfit but United look like a pile of crap. If they get top 4, and they look favourites of the current crop of contenders, Rodgers will be hailed as some sort of genius even though they're just being flattered by opposition who clearly haven't looked at what any bog standard team has done to them with just solid organisation. Even we kept them out and we've been the absolute pits.
