Confirmation Skrtel charged
http://the-fa.com/oW6lVo
Martin Skrtel has been charged by The FA for violent conduct following an on-field incident which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.

The charge is in relation to an incident involving the Liverpool defender and Manchester United's David de Gea which occurred in the 95th minute of Sunday's game.

The player has until 6pm on 24 March 2015 to respond to the charge.

In Premier League matches, if an incident has not been seen by the match officials, a three-man panel of former elite officials will be asked by The FA to review the footage independently of each other.

They will then advise what, if any action, they believe the match referee should have taken had it been witnessed at the time.

For an FA charge to follow, all three panel members must agree it is a sending-off offence.

In this instance, the decision by the panel was unanimous.

Gerrard for a rating of 4 in The Mirror. Can someone explain how a player who lasted 40 something seconds before being sent off warrants a 4? Some people on here don't even give Kone a 4!

TBH he did more in those seconds than Allen, Lallana or Sterling did.

Brendan Rodgers defends Liverpool's Martin Skrtel over stamp claims: He's not that type of player

lol

They are a very stampy side - we all know about the racist doing it, and Balotelli almost managed to maim Phil Jones with one as well yesterday.

It is funny though how the reds***e are putting the game under the microscope, Phil Jones is the latest who should have been sent of for 2 yellows that he should have been given, also it was the refs fault for the second goal because he got in Allen's way, a couple saying "on purpose"

Funny isn't it how all of these are blatant red cards yet not one of the penalty shouts against them was a pen in the southampton match and the ref waa bang on not to send Mignolet off for being outside his area. Selective viewing as ever from the wailing hystericals.

No one has even mentioned Can's rake of the studs on Jones(either) that got him his yellow. Wasn't that far off Suarez on Distin.

I'm surprised they haven't stooped even lower to have a pop at Rooney for his challenge on Mignolet which, let it be said, came about after a nasty shove from Skrtelor.

Still, mustn't complain what with Stampy and Franknskrtl out for three, Lala and Stodger-Travolta injured and the loss of pride from yesterday.

One of the "purists" on RAWK thinks the stampers on show yesterday didn't do enough....

If we're going to stamp then at least make it count, that's all I ask. Do De Geas ankle at the end there and that's fourth place sorted.

As I have said consistently on here, Rodgers bottles just about every big game he has ever been faced with.

Since Rodgers became manager (12-13)

Head to Head Table

Chelsea 21-41
Man City 23-35
Man Utd 21-31
Liverpool 22-21
Arsenal 21-17

12-13 Man U 16, Man C 13, Chelsea 12, Arsenal 6, Liverpool 5
13-14 Chelsea 20, Man C 13, Liverpool 12, Arsenal 6, Man U 5
14-15 Man U 10 (5), Chelsea 9 (5), Man City 9 (7), Arsenal 5 (5), Liverpool 4 (6)

Data from Statto.com

And finally off there..... the alarm call for the psychiatric flying squad...

Martin will be charged for sure.

It really does go back to what a 'nice' team we are. It's like we want to be the people's club and I am not talking about like them across the way.

De gea rolls about like he had been hit with a rock and other players get involve to make more drama.

Rooney goes in on Simon and we just let it go.

We will miss Gerrard next season because at least that man isn't scare to get stuck in and is up for the fight.

We're just a bloody soft bunch and nice people never win!
