ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I wanted our last upset of the season to be against the Mancs but Liverpool would be a decent alternative. It would be very Palace to ruin his party. To be fair, we do have a thread on our forum predicting the minute in which he'll get a probably undeserved penalty. 83rd for me as he surges into the box and trips over his own shoelaces.

Don't think I'll ever forget Crystanbul though. So glad I was there to see him and Suarez cry on the bigscreen.

Aren't you a neutral mate?

Very good sources told me all neutrals have Liverpool as a second team.

they have had better players like. players who have won so many more league titles. players who have won more european cups. i just don't get it. the premier league has seen so many better players like henry, players who actually won the league; didn't see anywhere near this extent. been banging on about it for a whole year.

shows how much of a influence they have in the media.

You got it.

I mean your absolutely right with what you said regarding Slippy. He has an impressed list of honors won with LFC, but he never won one trophy that really help defined who LFC is: The league.

To me that's important in defining what his legacy is because LFC made a name for themselves by dominating the 1st division for the better part of three decades. Yes LFC dominating the European Cup help put LFC on the map globally, but that wouldn't of occurred without the domination of the 1st Division. Hell, Bob Paisley even once said (and i'm paraphrasing the quote) that winning the European Cup is great, but it's winning the league that's important because it's your bread and butter.

And old slippy never did that and the one time they got frighteningly close to winning the league, he played an extremely large role in blowing it and whatever or not the Kopite cult wants to admit this or not (and of course they won't) when people think of Gerrard, they will always think of that faithful day in the 2014-15 season where he slipped in that game against Chelsea, despite saying "We won't let this slip", leading to a Demba Ba goal and effectively was the beginning of the end for LFC and their title hopes.

Putting my rational bias, hate and bitterness towards LFC aside if I could for a second, it's because of that when your talking about great LFC players that I could never put Slippy in the same boat as players like say......Kevin Keegan, Ian Rush or the Court Jester Dalglish, total beauts in their own right, but still good players, important LFC players and players who won one of the most important trophies for LFC to win: The League.

Not to mention, I thought he was overrated as a player (good, but don't THE GREATEST [Poor language removed] REDMAN IN KOP HISTORY YNWA AHHHH!!!!) and of course a total fraud as a "leader" and a human being as well. He doesn't deserve to have the Christ like treatment he gets from the Kop. Seriously, the only thing that's missing from pictures shown of Gerrard is a halo shown on his head. Of course if I went on RAWK, I probably could find a drawing of him with a halo around his head.

Good riddance, Stevie Me.

Departing Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard ALREADY in talks over a return to Anfield
www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/departing-liverpool-skipper-steven-gerrard-5699492

Steven Gerrard has already had talks about a job at Anfield when his playing days are over.
Liverpool legend Gerrard has started the process of gaining his UEFA coaching licence and spoke with the Anfield club’s owners and manager Brendan Rodgers about a possible role.
“I want to look forward,” said Gerrard. “I’m thinking more about whether there’s a role for me to come back to at the club in the future.
“I had a couple of brief conversations, a chat with the chairman Tom Werner and one recently with Brendan about what I’m thinking about - short term and long term.
"There’s certainly nothing in detail. I have ambitions to stay in the game. I’m taking my UEFA coaching badges and look to progress up that ladder.”
Gerrard, who is joining LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer this summer, admits reputation means nothing
when it comes to management.
“I’ve been coming to this club since I was eight years old, so I feel I can contribute in the future,” he added.
“To take a role at this club though, you have to be good enough. It would be naïve and stupid to take one just because you’re Steven Gerrard and had a good playing career.”

The Mirror....wringing out the dishcloth for another drip feed of Gerrard soundbites and another two page spread. He mustve been learning these glib remarks off by heart. The hypocrisy is breath-taking given his previous Mark Antony style denials...not talking about the future...got a job to do in L.A...I haven't left yet...etc etc. When in reality of course the opposite was being stage managed which was always going to be on the cards once his damaged ego got over the fact that he wasn't going to be centre stage anymore or even get a game. And er...reduced money - the opposite of the going to Chelsea saga. He'll probably be made manager before their final game.

please take it upon yourselves to abuse him for the rest of England, some 'witty' banners & songs would be great.

He slips on his ar5e
His Legend is fa-arce
his kids are a gangsters
his titles are sparse

Would be a perma ban on here that.

And to think Chico got 10 days in solitary confinement for a hell of alot less.

Now this really does put everything into perspective !

P.S. Carra and Hamman eventually bailed them out after the poor start. Many decent fans will tell you Hamman changed that game - which reflets a earlier post were Gerrard was moved to right back.

also what i read today on BBC:

Steven Gerrard is one of the ultimate one-club players and as QPR's Joey Barton pointed out yesterday on Twitter, he has only had one haircut in all his time at Liverpool.

umm? you mean the guy is going to have played for two clubs?
