All that happened was City overtook the weakest one, an arrogant Liverpool happy to finish fourth every year lapping up media adulation about that one night in Istanbul. Spurs had a brief flirt thanks to the emergence of Modtic and Bale when City were still getting to grips but then the top 4 were in place. Fergie's retirement shook the plates slightly allowing Liverpool to foolishly think they were going to be part of the new order at the expense of Man U, poor naive them. In one season Van Gaal has taken United straight back in and who can see any of those 4 dropping out now? As long as Mourinho and Wenger stay the London clubs are Certs whilst United and City have unrivalled spending power. Only another pivotal figure like Moyes or Suarez will break the new hold. Cannot wait for the fume as they embark on another 5 years outside of the champions league. They really missed their chance this year.
