Probably and he has been injury prone. But he is one of the few in that team who can actually tackle, their weak backline seems under far more pressure when he doesn't play......not certain but suspect he is a big earner from the previous regime.

This is going to go down well from Gary Neville...

Raheem Sterling has been in the eye of a storm this week following the revelation that he wants to leave Liverpool, but while there is a lot to be said about the way the story has developed, the harsh reality for the club is that this situation has been 15 years in the making.
When it comes to representing young players, the onus should be on protecting and supporting them; maintain your dignity and keep out of the headlines.
But has Raheem Sterling really let Liverpool down by suggesting he wants to leave or is he just a kid who wants to play football and win trophies?
There is a wider context to this story and it centres on how Liverpool have gone from being from one Europe’s great superpowers to one which is in danger of becoming a provincial club.
The prospect of losing Sterling will be a major concern for everybody connected to the club, but the uncomfortable truth is that this is nothing new for Liverpool.
Carragher been a bit quiet since he was called a knob, perhaps Sky have told him to button it ?
Quite like Can although as you say he has been exposed when playing as a RB in a way that for instance McCarthy when he has filled in there hasn't. Guess he is still adapting to the league though.....I think he's decent, plenty of caps for Brazil. The fans detested him but the lads I drink with appear to like him nowadays. As you say, Can is being lined up as the new central midfield hero but his displays in the latter half of the season (albeit at right back) makes me think the jury is out on him.
Think it 5 mate although Liverpool have a history of missing the odd stepIronically, most seem to agree with him.
What are the 4 stages of grief again??

They seem to be looking at a playing a combination of Can, Milner, Allen and Henderson in the midfield. Seems a touch light defensively unless they get another DM considering they will be in the Europa as well. Have they any youth prospects ala Ledson?

He was excellent for a period as a ball playing centre half. He honestly looked the closest thing I've seen to Stones. However he started getting above his station and lacks positional discipline. I also think people are starting to suss our his weaknesses as a defender, which hasn't happened with Stones.
As a midfielder he has been very average.
Only seen him once but was very impressed, slightly surprised they haven't tried him a bit more this season given how desperate they have been for goals......Kane played in the Euro's and looked a Ledson type, although the game I saw he started well and then went missing. They had a few good lads in the U21 game against us but probably not defenders. I like the lad Ojo a lot, arrogant but looks talented and might have a chance.

Wasn't me! Arrogance isn't that bad a thing for a striker/winger as long as it doesn't get to Bendtner like levels....he was only sub for the recent U21 game against us at Goodison but came on got brought down for a pen and lashed it home. I recall somebody posting (might have been you?) that the Reds paid big money for him as youngster which might account for his arrogance.
....I recall a Facebook Red posting pictures of Can and Barkley suggesting the Liverpool player was much better. It was after a midweek game earlier in the season when he had decent game and I think they were getting carried away (as normal).
Haven't seen this posted yet:

I think Rodgers expects him to change his mind like Suarez, except...
1.) Their squad was in much better shape for the year Suarez decided to stick around.
2.) Suarez was good enough to nearly win the league for them by himself, Sterling is not.
3.) Suarez seemed to be a "do anything to win" sort of player, Sterling hasn't shown he has that sort of attitude.
