so Liverpool have their transfer policy of signing saints players last summer and it drops them 4 places down the league.

glad to see Rodgers is learning from this.

It's laughable to the extent that surely they can see it as well?!

that guardian article with quotes from Phil Neal regarding heysel is unbelievable..

Phil Neal
Then: Liverpool captain, 34
Now: Merseyside Radio commentator

I'd rather forget that night. It was an ordeal. But, Jamie, why should I help you out? I'm helping you pay your mortgage [by talking to you about Heysel]. When people ask me for my view, they usually have to pay for it. You're asking for my help for nothing. To pay your mortgage, Jamie. I mean, what do you want from me?

I just thought that as the captain of Liverpool football club on that night at Heysel it would be good to hear your view?

Yes but what do you want from me? If I talk to you for a few minutes, then I'm helping you pay your mortgage and what am I getting in return? Do you know what I mean?

Well, I have been to Italy and talked with some of the families of the victims and they say that the trophy should be given back by Juventus to commemorate what happened.

About Juventus? Why are you asking me? Why are you asking someone on the Liverpool side? Juventus made amends very soon. Ask them ... Jamie I'm helping you pay your mortgage. People who want my views pay.

I'm sorry, but everyone else I have spoken to has ...

Great. So you've spoken to people, you've got your views. You've got your Liverpool view, but if you want mine for free, well people pay for them.

Really does well to dispel any myths there.

@Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian that is absolutely shocking. What an absolute...

If it was Hillsborough I'm sure he would be much more willing to participate in an interview, and certainly not for cash. Heysel is different though!

There was an article on the BBC today about Heysel being the forgotten tragedy of English football. I think it truly is because it is 'hushed' away.

Wow, just read that piece. Some powerful memories and feelings....

Then I read the Phil Neal bit again and got really angry. The man wants money, show me the money, from an event where people lost their lives. I've never rated or liked Bignose but I didn't realise what an utter [Poor language removed] of a man he was until now...............

People should phone/email murkeyside asking for him to be sacked. I'll be emailing the roger phillips phone-in about this this afternoon. That's an absolutely disgraceful attitude. What a scumrat.

Wtf? Really? That is an absolutely shocking way to go on

Status on Facebook thus morning from a match going red home and away "holding a service at anfield? [Poor language removed] Juve".

This fella did a charity visit to every ground in England collecting memorabilia from each club for the Hillsborough families as well.

Edit just looked at the profiles of some of the people who liked the status. First one has a cover photo of the names of the 96...couldn't make it up.

Surely if you were him you'd be looking for a job with a huge club after Dortmund.

If he goes there he's got another underdog fight on his hands, also no Champions League football either.

Unfortunately, I really think they could get Klopp. He'd be given a decent wedge to spend - more than he got at Dortmund. It wouldn't take much for a good manager to challenge the top 4 again, and he is of the age where they were the biggest club when he was growing up. He obviously sees himself as a football romantic...it might be too good a chance for him to turn down.

But they are pants atm, and have been shown for the disgusting shower they are in the last year or so, so hopefully the end up with another no mark. Or actually keep the no mark they've got now!
