ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

...barkley...in sights (?)

Based on last seasons squad, they will potentially lose 5 home grown players this Summer :

Milner, Boyata, Lampard, Wright, Sinclair.

That would leave them with only 3.

Hart, Clichy and Guidetti, Cant see Clichy and Guidetti staying either.

Anybody that has Home Grown players should be very afraid.

Apart from the fact that they didn't miss him when he was still there, the RAWKous ones will be slavering that they don't miss Gerrard when Milner has played 90 minutes for them. There was a mention in one of the red tops last week that Utd were sniffing round Milner....imagine the angst that would cause if it came to pass (lights extra candle at Mass)

They're not going to buy from below top 7-8 and maybe one or two of your players at a guess these are the players that would improve their squad on the homegrown quota and lower their squads average age. I can't see us selling to them unless it's a player we no longer want. That leaves Spurs and the RS a bit vulnerable. I can see Barkley and Sterling being priority.

I think Milner is a good player, a starter for an EL/aspiring EL level team, a squad player for a CL team.

If Liverpool replace Sterling with Milner, that's another example of a general downgrade in quality; as while I still class Sterling in the same sort of 'ineffective' bracket as Barkley (flashes of class but still lacks the ability to really assist/score/threaten consistently), he still obviously has lots of potential to become so much more with the right attitude and coaching, while Milner has already peaked and is nothing more than good and reliable.

FFS lads calm down, this is a team that ties to link themselves with Oscar,Falcao,Reus,Hummels,Zlatan,Lacazette, and other
big names,so far they are going for a 30 yeaar old Milner,Ings and a few more Saints players hardly has his league quaking never mind the cream of Europe they claim to belong to
Signing Milner is he equivelant of ossie signing a new deal

Milner is a good player, never underestimate Norways ability to destroy this quality though. The Morientes factor!
I'm worried that signing such an experienced player might undermine Horrenderson's confidence and standing in the team as the new Captain Fantastic.

I wouldnt, Henderson has come on tbf - but there is a limit to his potential and its not where near the big gapping Gerrard hole that will be there for beards.

For all the 100s of million they have spent their two best players came from within with Gerrard and Sterling (to an extent).

They dont know how to make signings and will continue to survive on the crumbs of the top teams, i.e. Milner's, Joe Cole's and Sturrdiges of this world. And those who look good in Southamptons team.
