Thank goodness he is staying.

Now it us up to Bobby.

We need to win the first derby so's he doesn't leave with an undefeated record.

I can't see him still bring around come spring and the second one :(

I'm not even bothered if he gets the sack after their first five games, I just want him around to waste their entire transfer budget again.
nah, mate you got it all wrong. It's the Transfer Committee that wastes all then money, Brenda only buys the good players.

Great news they are keeping him really. A lot of Kopites are getting the message now, that FSG are not interested in making Liverpool a top, championship challenging team again. They are happy to lag around the 2nd tier of teams, feeding off the scraps and probably waiting for someone to make them a decent offer.

Keeping Rodgers is not an act of loyalty, or good ownership/class (not being like Chelsea) as they will have you believe. This mob sacked both Dalglish and Hodgson in the first two seasons for much less. It is a sign that they are willing to accept mediocrity if a manager toes the line enough. There are managers like Klopp and Ancelotti out there waiting to be snapped up. If they had any real desire they'd go and get them.

This whole episode shows how much they have fallen, to accept 2 seaosns out of 3 finishing outside the top 5. Remember when Houllier (who won them a treble) was hounded out for finishing 4th? Or Benitez who won them a champions league for them hounded out for finishing 7th? They have now finally accepted that they are not a top club.

This will majorly mess up there season. You are going to have fans fuming, while they sign Ings and Milner as their Marquee signings waiting for the first opportunity to turn on Rodgers. His sides are notoriously slow starters, if that is repeated the calls for him to be sacked will be deafening by September. There is very little leadership in that side. Johnson, Carragher, Reina, Gerrard are all being moved on in the last couple of years.

Some fans who support Rodgers will get the major hump and there is going to be massive division again. It all starts to look like the Hodgson season all over again, when only the impetus of Dalglish, Suarez and Carroll saved them the blushes of a relegation dogfight. Big problems for them.

Both Ancelotti and Klopp are not available.

I think they conveniently made themselves unavailable until Liverpool went away. Like a girl who says she's not interested in having a relationship at this time in her life, when really it's you, and she ends up marrying some other dude 4 months later.

Well they say they are "not available" but they are out of work. If a side with some ambition came and offered them an opportunity they'd jump at the chance. I couldn't see either turning down Manchester United for example. It shows Liverpool up for how little pull they have.

Someone better will take his place, hope he stays for a long time, I would miss the
PIZtaKE

I wouldn't bet on it.

Their decline this past two and a half decades has been under the auspices of a motley collection of managers who, despite an isolated Cup here and there or a freak season in the league, have provided plenty of mirth for the rest of us whilst taking them in a southerly direction.

Souness, Evans, Houlier, FSW, Uncle Woy, Kenny the Second and of course, Brent.
