ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Listening to talksport and listening to kopites absolutely fuming about the players they are signing is fantastic, absolutely fantastic.
It's going to take them vastly overpaying for a real top tier manager before any player of the calibre they want will sign for them. I don't see FSG willing to give a £10m salary to anyone, not to mention the transfer budget they'd need to approve to get any of the best managers.

Not sure why any Liverpool fan would be overly concerned at this point. There's still plenty of time for them to make ambitious signings like. Our early business in 2013 (Alcaraz, Kone, Joel, Deulofeu) didn't look that exciting either. If they get £30-40m for Sterling, they'll be able to spend well over £50m in total. History suggests they'll waste a good portion of that, but they occasionally stumble across a Torres/Suarez.

Long way to go in the window, seems like they are getting their squad fillers in first.

Ings, Bogdan and Milner in and very little spent yet. Though i suspect their wage bill is getting incresingly massive.

When Sterling leaves their squad looks massively gash.

I'm not concerned one bit by the signings they've made and I hope they all go straight into the starting line up to be an important part of their team

Y'know, I had a thought just pop into my head cycling home last night.

'kids these days will probably never know how big a club Everton really were/are'

And what annoys me greatly is, that sentence really should apply to LFC as well. Several decades ago they were as big as you can get, now they are an also ran. But owing to a frankly brilliant manipulation of the British media, they've managed to pull the wool over the entire nation for years, hoodwinking all and sundry into believing they're still as big as they were in the 70s.

Not sure what I'm most annoyed about, Everton's actual footballing demise, the demise of the clubs' stature in the eyes of the footballing world, or the RS somehow being completely teflon and cruising through the years under this false pretence.

There's £12+M in annual salary for those 3 .........

Gutted they got Milner tbh he'll be a much better job in the middle than gerrard. Hopefully they have to shell out £8-10 mil for Ings as I can see them being let off and only having to part with £6-7 mil tops. They will make that figure by selling borini alone never mind lambert and possibly ballotelli. That's still an upgrade although not enough to get them CL.
