ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I have no idea why so many kopites are suggesting he won't get in the City team and will spend most of the season on the bench. It's like people haven't noticed that Jesus Navas is complete and utter dung and they don't have any other out-and-out wingers. He'll easily be a first team starter you absolute testicles

What seems to do my head in is this expectation of liverpool that they still cling to even now. A few small facts about them they won't accept

  • Out of the last 6 or 7 seasons, Liverpool have only finished above Spurs once. Yet they consider themselves better than them.
  • They are now selling one or the best player in the team every year now and the team is no better for it. Sterling/Suarez/Alonso/MAscherano/Arbeloa/Torres to name a few, almost to field a top class team, and obviously selling them to actual succesful clubs in the mean time.
  • They have already spent the Sterling money on Firminho, yet if he were to fail then that would be yet another first team player they failed to replace after ballotelli replaced suarez amongst others.
  • They still, despite this (and many other points) think they are the same liverpool who used to be succesful. They dont realise the price they pay for a trophy, even if its the league cup. They whore themselves out for whatever silverware they can get their hands on not realising their 'rivals' are challenging for more significant prizes.

Liverpool FC are an absolute joke of a club, and that isnt bias talking. If the media printed one tenth of their ridiculous goings on then everyone would laugh them out the door every year.

Sterling has killed any chance he ever had of developing into a world class player with this transfer

He should have stayed at Liverpool. He's not ready yet and he won't get the chance to develop sitting on City's bench

He'll be playing for Swansea in 2-3 years

Still, at least his agent made some money from him before he sinks into obscurity

Except he won't be sitting on City's bench ever, because he'll be the best wide player they've got

Nice bit of objective journalism from The Mirror and Liverpool fan Jim Boardman here...

No other clubs fans are allowed to print such utter drivel to the general public on a national scale. The whole club and everyone connected with them make me absolutely sick to the pit of my stomach, a horrible, banal, disgrace of an institution in every sense of the word. I'd love nothing more than to see them just fold

They're all banging on that they rate Ibe higher, Ibe is better anyway etc etc. They only started saying all this once Sterling began to mug them off. God they're such melts ffs, they don't half do my nut in.
It's because Ibe is better mate, remember that time he hit the post. Sterling's crap. Good riddance i'm not bothered anyway, and i'm not crying i have hayfever...SHUT UP!! *runs out the room screaming YNWA*

Astonishing, isn't it. Oh well, at least Boardman has outed himself as a journo with no bias

There are times, well most of the time actually, I wish the whole damn thing would just implode. What is the long-term benefit of all the SKY money.....it all seems to be spent/wasted on higher transfer fees, player wages and agent fees and all the time the cost of watching football hits the stratosphere. When a club like West Ham feels it can charge away fans £55 for a ticket, then this madness simply has to stop.
...it's called inflation : increase the money supply and prices rise as consequence.

To be fair there arent that many fans of other clubs who would think of writing an article in which the main criticism of the player is a lack of fight when he has just fought to get out of the club.

More to the point, there's not many national news outlets that would allow an employee and football journalist to sign off an article with "Liverpool fan, Jim."

Just wait and see

City still have more to spend in this window

He's there to fill the home grown quota and deny a rival a good player

Maybe he'll get played and rested at the correct times now like we've come to expect all youngs players are. Which then will aid his development and hopefully prolong his short career instead of being played 50+ games and carrying the team at such a young age?
