He's more likely to turn world class playing with the likes of Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero than Joe Allan and Lazer Markovic.
He's more likely to turn world class playing in the Nou Camp than playing in The Thursday Cup.

History says its highly unlikely.

Despite the fact City have clearly got the money to be throwing about, paying 50m for Sterling is utterly absurd. I said the other day that the lad has got a bit more about him than the likes of Townsend and Lennon but the money here is the price for a player who is the finished article. Not a chance Sterling is 45m better than Deulofeu.

Bunch of kopites holding scarves up in front of telly. Take your kids to Rhyl and attend a match and they won't grow up like that.

tbf if the dad's are sad enough to wave their scarves in front of TV - why would they want their children to be any different?

it should be aimed at step-dad's who would like to bring their step-son up not to be like his beaut of a father.

it's more of a signing for the future so what the hell was the rush? liverpool were willing to let him rot in the reserves, let them do that until january and they would have go fed up and probably would have accepted £30m because his attitude would have continually got worse. nobody else was interested, he had made excuses for not going to training and was not going on their pre-season. where in that last part does it make you think "i know, let's offer MORE money". retarded from a business sense really was. i know money's no objective to them but still, i could have all the billions in the world i still wouldn't accept being bent over and spanked like they have over this. they've looked utter mugs and other teams will follow suit.

Liverpool haven't sold Stirling for 49 million. not sure why everyone thinks they have.

They have sold him for 35 million. 5 is conditional and over 9 goes to qpr so realistically the price is being inflated for media purposes and everyone is biting

I'd say the exact same thing if he was going for 30m mate. Yes he's English, yes he's shown decent form in this league already and yes he's got bags of potential but at this stage that's all he is. From what I've watched he's too easily marked out of a game and often either fluffs great chances or doesn't get enough behind his shots to trouble the opposition.

Even the ''best youngster in Europe'' is wide of the mark. In any other league and any other Nationality and Sterling is a promising young player.

I expected him to be worth around 30 so 35 isnt too far off that. 30 is based on the fact he is English not that good of a player. Liverpool fans just think they have deal of the century when really they have just got city to pay the sell on clause for them

To be fair the media keeps saying they paid £29 million for Firmino when they actually paid £22 million. £7 mil conditional and has 50/50 chance of ever being paid out.
