Yeah, for two years. Then it'll be Scott Sinclair wages for the rest of his life

Still loads for regular human beings like, but could have been top tier wages for the rest of his career if he'd spent some more time developing at Liverpool

He's not considered the long time ramifications of this at all, which was probably his agents doing. He smelled a quick cash in and took it

Pretty sure City will give him a 6 year contract Mikey.

you do realise he'd be on a million a month if he gets the wage you quoted.

not sure the scott sinclair wage would be much of a hinderance tbh.

Sterling has killed any chance he ever had of developing into a world class player with this transfer

He should have stayed at Liverpool. He's not ready yet and he won't get the chance to develop sitting on City's bench

He'll be playing for Swansea in 2-3 years

Still, at least his agent made some money from him before he sinks into obscurity

He'll be first choice on the wing. And with genuine quality around him, I expect him to have a very good season

Agree that some of the move has been fueled by the quota and the desire to weaken a rival but don't think those alone are enough to break the record for an English player.

He'll learn a lot from playing with Aguero and Silva that could well improve his all round game and provided he copes with the added pressure think he'll get reasonable game time. Perhaps not as much as he would at Liverpool but there is a balance between enought game time to develop and too much that can risk burn out - his 4500+ minutes last season was probably a bit too close to the latter.

Guess we'll see!

I do struggle to think of a handful of English players that move at a young age with potential that become genuine world class talents in the modern game.

Rooney and Lampard are just two.

Where as Wright Phillips, Joe Cole, Franny Jeffers, David Bentley etc never did.

Unless I'm off base with this.

Unfortunately not a long list of ones who stayed put and became genuine world class either :(

He's more likely to turn world class playing with the likes of Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero than Joe Allan and Lazer Markovic.
He's more likely to turn world class playing in the Nou Camp than playing in The Thursday Cup.

Silly money, but I'm thinking not necessarily a payday for the RS? FSG are cashing in an asset. I may be proved wrong on this, but Rodgers and his seemingly inevitable successor might not get their hands on all of this cash (or they've lashed their share already)
It is obscene for an unproven prospect though, and further distends this ridiculous marketplace.
