It's a shame that they got so much money, but this has still amused me greatly.
I actually think he'll do well at City. He's better than Navas and no more inconsistent than Nasri, and they're not really a club which puts a huge amount of pressure on its players.

Is it not logical to think that if Ibe was better, Man City would have just gone for him anyway as he'd be much, much cheaper (inconsistent with the idea of him being better of course).
If this happened to Everton I think that I'd be happy with the size of the fee and just moving on to what we could do with it. For example when Man U took Fellaini off us or when some club almost inevitably takes Stones sooner rather than later. Ultimately it is difficult to resist the clubs that are above you in the food chain, especially when that is also the opinion of the player in question.
