I'm a red and that thing he has put up is the biggest load of cack going. For what it's worth I think you and us will be going for 5th or 6th. A decent start giving confidence and few injuries almost got Newcastle into the Champions league a few years back.

I think that's the way we view this year as well. If we maintain this start we could be in with a shout for Europe. City, Utd, Spurs are all looking decent, Chelsea will splash more money in Jan, Arsenal god only knows........

We love Mad Max and his mastery of writing numbers, together with an emoji that rolls and laughs.......we also love that Prof and his amazing APLT that bears no relation to reality or the final table positions.......please let them know how much we appreciate the wit, humour and science that they employ, thanks........

Has Max had much to say on this?

54,074 capacity and all tickets "sold" yet the attendance has now been officially confirmed as 53,075. So 1,000 of them couldn't be arsed to turn up (or missed their flights).

Looks like the Boro game is heading for a sell out so he'll have to wait for the League Cup game for his trademark figure followed by emoji. He's having a tough time of it lately.

They can't have had only 53k in because there is a billion on a 200 year waiting list isn't there?

it matters not how many games we win we just cant overtake those pesky reds on the APLT, sometimes I wonder if its biased

Truly sad but I've looked at the APLT for the first time and come across a fundemantal (emphasis on mental) error.
Look at our 1st match, we're -2, so prediction was that we beat Spurs. But Spurs are 0, so prediction was a draw! So we are either 2 points light or Spurs are 1 point light.
I am very lonely, sad and have far too much time on my hands.

Each game has a "par score" of either 1 or 3.
- For away games against the teams who finished in the top 12 places last season "par" equals 1.
- For all home games and the remaining 7 away games "par" equals 3.

If you win a par 1 game you get +2 points in the APLT. (3 points for a win - 1 point for par = 2 points)
If you draw a par 1 game you get 0 points in the APLT. (1 point for draw - 1 point for par = 1 point)
If you lose a par 1 game you get -1 points in the APLT. ""
If you win a par 3 game you get 0 points in the APLT. ""
If you draw a par 3 game you get -2 points in the APLT. ""
If you lose a par 3 game you get -3 points in the APLT. ""

By "playing to par" you will stay on 0 points in the APLT. Over the course of a full season this is the same as getting 90 points in the real table (19 home wins * 3 points + 7 away wins * 3 points + 12 away draws * 1 point)."
So by my reckoning this means a "par season" (so an average season) means going unbeaten....

Makes sense to me!
