"this is Liverpool Football Club"

I love the way Brenda bandies this around like as though he has been associated with the club for years. He's a non achieving know nothing manager who has conned some know nothing yanks and the gullible RS hoards into believing he's the messiah with a philosophy. The greatest con trick ever played upon a premier league club......

yep...im genuinely starting to warm to the guy!

Plenty of them are running out of patience with him. My mate who follows them said after the Spurs match he'd rather have Woy back in charge, thinks Rodgers is taking the piss, hasn't got a clue what he's doing.

That's just it, he wasn't. He was bog standard, plodding along not doing much, then Liverpool threw £20m at Sunderland who snapped their hands off as quick as they possibly could. I remember reading a few Sunderland forums about his move at the time - the vast majority couldn't believe they had got £20m for him.

I remember watching him a few times at Sunderland and wondering what the fuss was about. He seemed slow, weak in possession and unable to move properly in the final third when he got there. That's simply continued at Liverpool.

Dalglish decimated that club with his bizarre signings

The hilarious thing is that's spot on  Der King came back to "restore them to their rightful position" and did the exact opposite! I still find it hilarious how much damage he did, you couldn't have made it up in a million years.

To be perfectly honest, I'd never really watched him much prior to his move, but I had heard good things about him. Obviously he's just another overhyped English young player.

They've already been shafted by sharp agents on all the deals out and how do you think paid Adam's signing on few because it wasn't stoke that's for sure. The deals they put players or & the deals to but them were ridiculous , I think with Henderson they enquried Sunderland quoted a price and no negotiation liverpool paid it. I imagine you can still here Sunderland laughing all the way to the bank .

On sterling I'm bit sure lpool will meet the players demands but I can't see him accepting less that £30-35k ish with structured rises based on various criteria.

If someone offers this kid the big wages he wants I think he'll be off. The issue is if any club fancies that deal .

That's just bizarre, but utterly hilarious.

I expect they will keep him, they can't afford not to really, but I can't see him being there for long if they continue at the rate that they are.

I've said the same kind of thing to a few mates about Suarez, that if they miss out on Champions League this year (lol) then Suarez is gone, absolutely no question about it. They wouldn't have it, saying he loves the club etc.....

Welcome to our world LFC!

what do you mean ?

No longer have owners who will give them money to spend 'because they deserve it'.
No longer considered to be real contenders for league or European honours.
About to fall out of the top 10 football rich list
Poor team managed by a complete bell
Top players don't want to go there because they're struggling to get into Europe never mind the CL.

They've come back down to earth with a bump.

^^^^^

Spot on sheeds.

I think you have to take his age out of the equation here; it's his role in the side. He's infinitely more important to Liverpool than Joe Cole is, so it's not unreasonable to ask for 50% of his wages at the minimum.

A journo mentioned Coles wages on Talksport this morn, to disbelief from Brazil & Irani "sriously, is Joe Cole on 140k a week ?" he then muttered "yeah with bonuses and that" as opposed to "140k plus bonuses and that" which is closer to the truth. Not that he'll get many like, unless they get a 'most like Messi in training' bonus, but thats just getting to wear a shirt that MeLaaaaaaaaaaaaaar swapped with him, and there's only Cole and Allen that it fits.

The deals they put together for their signings both in wages & fees were described to me as 'beyond belief' they then had Rodgers saying to Adam that he had no future and publically that they wanted to move him on exactly the same as with Carroll. I'm not as informed on Carroll although I know a fair bit but obviously everything was in thr players hands and with Adam they then had a particular agent tell them that stoke wouldn't meet his wages so unless they paid his signing in fee (to supplement his wages) he was coming back. Liverpool had painted themselves into a corner and it's still costing them.

I love how bad it was and still is . The 'rumours' are the previous manager was only concerned (despite his professed love of the club) with his big fat personal terms & bonuses and between him, the then Director of Football & this bloke who seems so far out of his depth its scary they have hamstrung the club and it makes me

I love these little snippets of absolute despair. Thanks Sheeds.

i heard that interview on Talksport this morning. the jorno was Tony Barrett of the time, hes also a red.

he also made a great point about in the 70s and early 80s liverpool's players were on average wages but great bonuses. which gives players a good incentive to win.

This should be how deals are done these days really.

The days of big bonuses supplementing wages have gone really , the last club to really take advantage of it were Arsenal but now even with them its become simply a wage supplement. The likes of stoke are very structured with only a couple of players on the likes of £40k the rest around and about £25k , obviously signing on fees and clever use of bonuses make those wages up. For all their average (at best) football as a club they've got their finances in order.

Liverpool putting average players on ridiculous contracts means that the likes of sterling wants his share of the cake and like I and others have said who can blame him ? They reap as they sow.
