ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Better team does not always equate to a victory. I gave you an example in my previous post...

I suspect you'd be more comfortable posting elsewhere...

You are indeed right, the best team does not always win, but in this instance the best team did win and deserve it. Are you saying we deserved to win it? And insinuatating DaveK is a supporter of someone else is totally misguided and undeserved, just because he is willing to give our neighbours a little credit, doesn't make him a Red. Sometimes, just sometimes, you are allowed to give credit, no matter how begrudged it is, it's called being constructive and not totally narrow minded.

And I hate that Klopp isn't insufferable. It's all very disorientating.

Well I for one do find his touchline antics insufferable, as I do with a lot of the managers/coaching staff of premiership clubs. Okay so the TV stations like it because they like to show long, lingering shots of "passion" off the field rather than action on it (even more annoying when the coverage of this "passion" takes up most of a highlights programme!) but I prefer a manager who remains impassive on the touchline.

1. I believe neither team deserved to win the game on the day at Goodison, whereas in the return game we were not at the races, even at 1-1 for a brief time.

2. Quite bluntly, the guy appears to go out of his way to praise the RS, as others have noticed on this board. And it goes above and beyond giving due to when they have played well.

It's not a case of being narrow-minded, certainly not applicable to me. The greatest goal I consider ever scored was by the RS - the last goal in a 7-0 win against Spurs when the play went from the edge of their own area to Spurs back of the net (Anfield Road end) in a matter of seconds. Look it up - it must be on Youtube somewhere. Credit where credit is due. But davek's fawning over them sometimes makes me want to puke. Arguing for argument's sake...

But as you indicate, that's down to the media not the manager.

I can't think of any interview where he's come across as pompous or arrogant or dismissive. Blind to the problems caused by his own players, yes. But that's par for the course.

No, I find him to be an annoyingly respectful and agreeable person.

The touchline stuff is because he knows his audience. Kopites lap that crap up.

As I said, it's not just him. I've listened to interviews and he comes across as pleasant and, obviously, knowledgeable. I'd just prefer it if he, and others like him, saved the histrionics for the dressing room, and saved us from having to watch it. Thankfully we have a manager who knows how to behave in public :cool:

The media just film it , its him doing it for the attention in my opinion and he absolutely loves it making him perfect for them. Running on the pitch to celebrate with the players , running into other manager technical areas , celebrating the awarding of penalties , celebrating with the players in front of the kop after a home draw, turning his back when penalties are taken not to mention the ridiculous gurning it's not a personality its attention seeking .

I appreciate your opinions on koeman but his reaction in the 3-2 Southampton win over the RS was I believe directly in response to Klopp's behaviour and I think you can read into Pulis' comments after the celebrations in the draw. As I say I'll expect you to disparage the two managers I've just mentioned but that's not the point it's klopp's behaviour that's apparently irritated one or two other managers and I'm sure they're are probably a couple more.

As for annoyingly respectful and agreeable his berating of the fourth official , which would absolutely have seen mourinho banned, and the mask slipping against a journalist post game when the RS hit a poor run of form would argue against your point .

I'll agree with your earlier points that he's done well, I think Klopp has done a pretty good job with them especially if they get the top four but you seem to have fallen for this "oh what a character " BS that the media peddle . For me it's pathetic journalism and I find it lazy but given it's the RS it doesn't surprise me.

Well, my view is that he's a snide. But this isn't the thread for it.

What a lovely man. How can you not fawn over him.

I haven't fallen for anything. He treats opposition teams well and doesn't deny them their victory. He's never said a word against Everton either, which is a big improvement from the arsehole they'recently had in charge.

Does he play to the gallery? I expect so. But he's made an overall favourable impression. More importantly for his own club, he's dragged a pile of garbage into pole position to grab 3rd/4th spot. As said, strip out Lallana and Coutinho, that first team squad of theirs is West Brom class. He has a major summer ahead.
